Well, I know; I read the thread. That's why I was trying to kill it. Or at least encourage 'Hooder to kill it. Hell, even if tooki swooped in and locked it without a word, that would be good, too.

I still enjoyed the xerox art, despite this lame thread.

It should have been killed back when people "ahem" were personally attacking others because their opinions differed.

Know anyone that did that?

Then next came the petty personal attacks about me saying "16th"

Some people knee-jerk and over-react about the SILLIEST things.

I am glad I am not that petty.

I reacted to your insistence that "16th chapel" is an acceptable nickname. And I personally attacked you for your stupid insistence. The actual comments about YOUR use of the word 16th in the original post lasted all of 2 or 3 posts. The attacks have nothing to do with your original post.

I don't care if you say it wrong Zimp, but don't lie to make it seem like you're not wrong.

That's just it tough guy, I am not lying. Your insistence that I am lying without any proof showing I am lying is very dishonest.

BTW I did a search for "16th Chapel" on google. I suggest you all do it as well.

Found many instances non "Idiots" calling it that.

And yes, I DO remember my Professor making comments about how a lot of his peers named it that because of the word play, and it's relation to the 16th Century.

Don't believe me? That is fine. But unless you have "Facts" to prove otherwise, calling me a liar makes your argument pretty baseless.

Yes, when you claim that you having a BA in ART means you know what my professor, that wasn't apart of your College said,, yes indeed that is you making things up.

Fact is you don't know. Stop being dishonest.

What is more pathetic is calling someone a liar, without a shred of proof he is lying. You should be ashamed of yourself.

But I am sure you aren't. And your next post you'll do the same without batting an eye.

Go for it.

bah. it matters not!. if the man were to communicate in some fashion that the painting was intended to be "art", then it is. i put paint on the walls of my house all the time, but i dont call it art and dont expect people to think of it as such.

Just because it's not the TRUE name, doesn't mean it's not called other things. And indeed it is.

I have shown proof.

I have seen NOTHING from you but baseless accusations and petty personal attacks.

Come on tough guy, lets see some of your accusations backed up.

Ok how about this one?

http://www.wetheliving.com/pipermail...10/000714.html

> watching a journeyman bricklayer attempt to paint
> the Sistine Chapel

Jeff, let's remember that, as Roland Pericles has informed
us, the 16th Chapel has great philosophical significance (since
it is the only chapel on Earth that was built on the Night of
January 16th)
and we must get our fax straight. Michael Angelo
was not a journeyman bricklayer, but in fact is renowned for
achievements far beyond that level. -- Mike Hardy
I think that pretty much proves my point. So now we ALSO KNOW why it is ALSO CALLED the "16th Chapel"

Why? For those that didn't read it. It's the only Chapel on Earth that was built on the Night of Jan 16th.

Once again, I showed it being used. Now I have connected the dots.

Still more nay-sayers?

Um, Kevin, with all due respect (i.e., none):

You're using the words of a guy who talks of getting his "fax straight" to prove that a phonetic re-interpretation of a building's name is an academically acceptable one?

That's among the dumbest things you've ever posted.

Thank god you said it. If you hadn't, I surely would have.

Thanks Zimp, for using such great internet sources.

This guy actually uses:

fax = facts
Michael Angelo = Michaelangelo
16th = Sistine

Give me a break! All of your sources are from stupid people on the internet. Congratulations on finding the uninformed. I can't believe you were actually able to find ignorant people on the internet! Whodathunk?

Oh, but it PROVES YOUR POINT! Ahahahah.

Alright Zimp, here's a Proper Source (ie, one I would be comfortable using and referencing in a paper if I were to write one).

First, the chapel was built in the 15th century. The artwork done by Michelangelo was done in the 16th century. There is no mention of it being started or completed on January the 16th, and I would expect a source like this to list such an important date if it was real. Instead, there is a range of years, because of course, something this huge took years to build. Specific start and finish dates weren't recorded, because if they were they would be listed!

Find reputable sites instead of idiotic people using the word incorrectly.

Get your fax straight.

OK, so your last reputable source was writing that way on purpose. He was using some guy named "Roland Pericles" style of writing. Here are two of Roland's messages:

ATL: Arctic or Antarctic: Watt Is the Big Differents?

ATL: From the Rite Lain Two the Shoulder

So it was great that you used a source that intentionally misused a word to fit a particular style of writing. The guy isn't stupid after all. But you're just joking, right?

I also strongly suspect that if an *art professor* used the phrase "a. k. a. 'Sixteenth Chapel'" in class, he was employing a device known as "sarcasm" to get a chuckle out of his - assumedly - knowledgable students. I know my professors do this on occasion.

The best part is always some guy who doesn't get it.

Naw reading this shows me just how hateful and YES pretentious people in here can be.

I said that people used it regularly that way, and they did. I never ONCE said it was RIGHT.

I showed MANY TIMES where people REGULARLY used it.

I explained WHY I used it the way I did.

And you hateful jerks STILL claim I somehow am trying to say THAT IS THE TRUE WORDING.

THEN you call me a LIAR.

What did I lie about? That people DO INDEED use it that way? Yes, yes they do. I have shown that. A LOT OF PEOPLE DO.

You guys need to get a grip. The next thing will happen is, all you tards will be jumping someone's rear for not using apostrophes correctly.

THE HORROR!!

Again, I never SAID "16th Chapel" was correct. I said MANY PEOPLE CALL IT THAT. It IS a nickname.

So far all you guys have proved is, it's not the OFFICIAL name. Something I WASN'T ARGUING.

It's like a group of pit bulls foaming at the mouth in this thread.

Seek help.

People were saying it was the wrong name of the chapel from the beginning, but you kept posting crap about it being called the 16th chapel. "See, people do call it that!" People kept telling you it was just wrong, and it is. But now—"oh, I was just saying that's what other people said. I wasn't saying I was right."

So you almost accept just being wrong about something for once.

And calling people retards. Tsk.

OH BOY MINDFAD YOU SURE BUSTED ME!11one!!

Maybe I should have called YOU the retard. ANd yes, I called him that to make a point. But I decided to change it just in case they didn't get it.

That is why instead I put

"From now on, anytime anyone makes any reading comprehension problem, calls something something else, or makes a mistake, I am going to thoroughly make fun of them. (Not everyone, just the petty jerks that are doing it here) "

I am showing I can be JUST as petty and hateful as you all. I wanted to make CLEAR what I was doing so it couldn't be construed as something else.

"OMG!! HE SAID 16 and not SISTINE!!oner!! WHAT AN IDIOT!!111One!!11"

Get a grip. Seriously.

I can't tell you how man times I have busted you for changing a post. Did I make a big deal about it? Did I screenshot it and post it and act all 14? No.

THAT is what I am talking about. Thanks for showing an example of petty hatefulness.

i'm not the one having a temper tantrum. i'm also grown up enough to admit when i'm wrong, and regularly do so. you'd do well to learn that you don't always have to answer every post, and that, sometimes, it's better to just walk away. one might even say "turn the other cheek."

this is an entertaining way to waste a few hours though, i have to admit.

Heh, Phil what was a wrong about? I said many people use it. And they DO!

I was never trying to say "THAT IS THE CORRECT NAME FOR IT" which these goons are trying to argue.

I just said it was a nickname, many people used.

They came back with "NOOoOo it's not the right word, anyone that uses it like that is an IDIOT!!"

Since XEO likes wikipedia, he needs to look up this one.
