I'll add this definition too.

Zimph,
I reckon people think you're lying because when you replied to my post you said:

Originally posted by Zimphire:

which kinda implies you didn't know some (misinformed) people call it that. It seems that once Chemmy said he thought you knew some people called it that, that you back tracked as if you did mean to say it.

Now, I don't want to get involved in all the name calling and stuff, it's just that to go from an 'oops, didn't mean that' (that's not a quote, btw, so no 'i never said that, don't pull random quotes out of your arse' please ) to 'my college professor calls it that, so I did know about it and it's prefectly valid' comes across as a bit weird.

Now, when responding, please bear in mind that I'm only trying to shed a bit of light onto what I see as the reason behind the comments. So, please don't start yelling that this is a personal attack - not everyone wants to belittle you for the fun of it (it's true, really , the personal attacks only seem to come when you get over-defensive...)

Jeez - I sound really whiney and apologetic - must show how much I don't want the 'wrath of Zimphire' to hail down on me....

And I did. See, throughout my life I have had problems with my brain working faster than my fingers. I was thinking "16th century artwork" and trying to type Sistine. THAT was the typo.

I actually meant to type in "16th century artwork from the Sistine Chapel" But sometimes I get ahead of myself. This is a fault of mine. I even take medication because of this. To SLOW the process down. I re-read it and saw what I had put.

I didn't bother to change it because I had seen and heard it called that before.(Remembering back in my college days) I even did a Google search, and SURE ENOUGH. It was used that way. So I left it be.

I actually thought they were making fun of me for saying "16th" and not "Sixteenth" at the time.

THEN when I found it they were actually making fun of me using 16 at ALL, I made a comment that It's often called that as a "nickname" by many also.

Then I was told I was wrong. So I showed were it was indeed.

THEN I was told "ONLY IDIOTS SAY THAT"

They kept changing the argument. Trying to find ANYTHING to get pissy about.

It's the usual few that do this. What surprised me was a mod, that is supposably here to set an example, was in on it too.

I was NEVER arguing that it was the CORRECT usage of the word. I was trying to find out WHY people used it that way.

ALl I got back was name calling and hateful pettiness.

They wanted to bust me for SOMETHING, and dag nabbit, they were going to do it honestly or not.

They choose the latter. It would be compared to me giving six6 complete hell for saying I had a BA in art, when I never claimed as such. Then go on for two pages and tell him what an idiot he was for saying that. I would never do that. Why? Because that would be petty.

But it's to be expected in here. I just didn't expect a mod to take part in the pettiness.

That doesn't matter. He should STILL be following along with the rules.

I am sure an admin didn't reprimand him for it. As any of us would have been.

Being a Mod, he should be showing an example. Not making an ass out of himself.

I doubt he will even apologize for his outbursts either.

The way I used it incorrectly was not on purpose. But the usage is indeed not the correct name.

I never said otherwise.

Why should he? You never apologise for making stuff up either.

Kevin, none of your professors has ever called the Sistine Chapel the 16th chapel. You made that up.
You've never known a woman wearing nappies because she had too much anal sex. You made that up.
You've never known anybody who's limbs have grown back either. You made that up too.
Same as your uncle who was gay but isn't anymore. It was your uncle, right?

Normally I manage to ignore you because, let's face it, the less you contribute to the general hubbub that is the lounge the better it is for all concerned. But ever now and then you have to over-egg the cake, don't you?

No, no I did not. If you can somehow PROVE that to be true. By all means do it. But as of now your just being a jerk.
You've never known a woman wearing nappies because she had too much anal sex. You made that up.
No, I said I was TOLD that. I was TOLD by a woman that. I never said that having anal sex WOULD cause that and that was factual. More petty dishonesty.
You've never known anybody who's limbs have grown back either. You made that up too.
Same as your uncle who was gay but isn't anymore. It was your uncle, right?
Yes, yes I have known both. You are again, being a jerk.

Naw, I think your actions here speak loud enough Mastrap.

You need to seek help. Now.

Zimphire, it is of my opinion that you are an idiot.

id¬∑i¬∑ot ¬_¬_ ¬_P¬_¬_¬_Pronunciation Key¬_¬_(d-t)
n.
A foolish or stupid person.

A person of profound mental retardation having a mental age below three years and generally being unable to learn connected speech or guard against common dangers. The term belongs to a classification system no longer in use and is now considered offensive.

Foolish is exactly what I think you are. The word fits perfectly with my view of you. There is no reason for me to apologize for it. It wasn't an outburst. It's the truth of my view.

Xeo, you are what, 22?

I would tell you to act your age, but you are.

I wonder what the requirment of being a Mod here is.

They need a stricter background check.

You are out of line, and should be ashamed of yourself.

Don't worry, I still forgive you. Even if you don't apologize.
