upscale restaurant, I'm a server/waiter there. It's in Downtown Fort Lauderdale, under hurricane warning. the storm is still a ways off the coast, and heading NW, up and away from my area, but it's been wobbling like crazy, spinnin' in circles, etc. who knows.

point is, no one's gonna be out eating veal chops and drinking Jordan Cabernet.

and work is a good 20 minute drive in fair conditions (it's pouring, and pretty windy now)

and I'm in the 'stang-it's hairy in the rain, and my sunroof leaks.

While I need the money that a good Saturday night would offer, I have no use for the crap money I'll make tonight. The local/national weather/news makes people so paranoid about these storms, that no one will be out except for drunk surfers.

where the people WON'T be:

There's nothing wrong with drunk surfers.

What restaurant do you work at? Who's the executive chef? Looks nice.

Gov. Jeb Bush warned Floridians not to let storm fatigue get the best of them, "even though we're weary and even though this is a painful process."

"They must treat this hurricane as if it's the only hurricane they've ever been through," said Max Mayfield, director of the National Hurricane Center in Miami. "This has the potential to cause loss of life."

be careful
