YEAHHHHHH!!!!

70 pounds or PURE SEX RIGHT THERE

Built to Adire specs, with MDF enclosure painted with Rustolium satin black. With 3/4" Baltic Birtch 13 ply for the driver board, used a BEHLEN Solar-Lux™ Stains in red mahogany that some one recommended from woodcraft.com and 7 coats of wipe on satin poly from Rockler.com.

I constructed the pressure rings from 1/2" BB ply and a few intimate hours with my router. I ascetically I think it adds so much to the enclosure.

One thing that I would have done different, I was a little cheap and used the same stainless steel hardware on the AV8's that I used on my Crown Rack, which means that I had to bend my arm and reach in and hand fasten the lock nuts behind the driver board, granted I saved 10 bucks or so but it took me a 45 minutes to get both drivers in.

I finished it last night, after a few hours soldering and assembling in the hallway of my dorm and sadly it was quite hours so I couldn't really hear what it sounds but tonight I will let her breath and hook it up to the DC300A

Total investment around $350

Isn't overdoing it a bit for a home theatre?

Of course not, he lives in a dorm room. That's a lot of space to fill with sound.

as of right now, i am thinking about the long haul eventually there will be a room where this will truly shine. . Also its not like I have to play it loud all the time, thats why they designed volume controls.

Ya but why make it that large if it is always going to be at 30% volume. I know lots of people who buy overpowered subwoofers and 100 watts per channel sound systems but never have the system above 50% as that is loud as hell.

apparently you can't understand me. I some time down the line I will have a room where I will actually tax this speaker. Also why by a car with 260 HP when a 70 hp diesel will do just fine,

Wattage is over rated anyways, its mostly for head room.

For a gym, which has horrible acoustic properties I am sure you would want pro drivers.

another aspect that i considered when picking this center channel is the WMTW alignment, normal MTM center channels have a lobbing affect which is horrible for center channels, by keeping the driver close together and it widens the dispersion which is what a center channel should do.

Also don't just look at it and see a large speaker that can play loud, you need to appreciate the 6th oder cross over with air core inductors and polypropylene caps. It crosses the woofers almost a full octave below the -3db point to retain the wide dispersion of an 8 inch driver, same with the mid and tweeter.

by looks alone yeah its a big speaker but for design and thought thats gone into it more then makes up for it.

Na, downloading music of P2P is legal here, you'd have to be a sucker to want to pay for it.

If it's not worth paying for, surely it's not worth listening to?

Umm, what does all that mean to a non-audiophile?
It seems obvious that the bigger it is the louder it can be but what do all those acronyms mean and why are they a good thing?
One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.
