if you were george lucas what would you change? i just finished watching triolgy and i thought the new sfx looked great. i didn't find the new or edited scences too distracting either. but if there's ones one thing i could change is to cut out chewbacca. he really doesn't do anything throught the series except wail like a distressed animal. damn that wookie is annoying.

what would you change?

If I was George Lucas, I would come out with a new Ultimate improved super extended Jampack Edition. Anybody that complains would buy it anyway and I would laugh all the way to the bank.

Why change anything at all?

If I was Lucas, I'd create a movie that actually had nothing to do with Starwars. Then in 30 or so years I'd change it to include Ewoks.

Watching it again (saw Empire over the weekend), I realized how "lame" the dialog is - i.e. "laugh it up fuzzball...", and "a deathmark isn't easy to live with..." (how do you say that with a straight face?). There were more... but I don't remember them.

So if that was do-able, I'd change the dialog.

imho - the effects is one of the best ever in movies. Not to mention the creativity involved with the models. I'll take those over CG anyday.

If I were George, I'd put this in the opening credits:

"Listen up, nerds! This is my movie. I put up the cash, I wrote it, I produced it, and I'll put whatever the f*ck I want in it! If you don't like it, then don't see it, and go make your own g*d-d*mned movie! But I know you're going to pay to see it anyway, so I'll just do whatever the f*ck I want. Too bad, losers!"

I donno about changing anything really, I just watched ROTJ the other night and I was lucky enough to watch it over my parent's place when they weren't home. (Think Isolated home with no neighbors, 50" HD Plasma and Bose Surround Sound sparing no expenses). I was blown away by the graphics. I had to keep reminding myself that this movie came out in the early 80's. There are some movies that are released now-a-days that pale in comparison to this. Personally, I give the newest Trilogy

I'd use the old style effects for the new movies...I've always thought good models were better than excellent CGI.

I actually bought the new DVD set (I can't believe I actually bought Star Wars) and I liked the mix of old models + some new effects. Much better than the overdone CGI in the new movies.
