But he looks nerdy. Surely that merits a thread, no?

(I'm being sarcastic.)

Go, nerd, I say.

But not smarter than you, that's impossible. You are the pinnacle of human evolution, we all might as well be biological sludge with someone like you around.... but that statement itself is pretty insane, nobody COULD be like you, you're too perfect! I mean, if I were you, I think I'd just lay around all day and have sex with myself!

Hence the MIT sports team cheer when they lose (often):

That's all right, that's okay,
You're gonna work for us some day!

Note: you can also buy a very nice coffee mug at the MIT store that says "Nerd Pride". Rock on, MIT.

Apple
I am soft and sweet
Surrounded by rough skin.
I have a tough core.

You, the world
Chew me up
As if I am insignificant
Nothingness.

You assume
That I am a member of the masses.

You ignore
My individuality.

You crush me
And tear me to pieces.
Until
I am nothing.

"An MIT student spent an entire summer going to the Harvard football field every day wearing a black and white striped shirt, walking up and down the field for ten or fifteen minutes throwing birdseed all over the field, blowing a whistle and then walking off the field. At the end of the summer, it came time for the first Harvard home football game, the referee walked onto the field and blew the whistle, and the game had to be delayed for a half hour to wait for the birds to get off of the field."

that's how they win.

Naw, they don't play Harvard, but they like to disrupt Harvard's games with Yale, etc.
Great story.

I could tell he was an MIT student - I recogionized the inventory sticker on his tower. And yes, I work for MIT.

Don't try to outweird me, I get stranger things than you free with my breakfast cereal.
