I know that they're dead cheap in Thailand, and dead expensive in Europe, about 100 US$.
..........and I'm going to be in Singapore in a couple of months.
Anyone onboard just happen to live above a Singaporean clothes shop?

I'm suggesting that I might be able to save myself a few bucks if I patch the jeans I'm wearing now and buy the replacement pair in Singapore when I am there in a few months.
Sorry for being so obtuse.
Now I know why I never start threads in the lounge. It's not like I want to download a pair of pirated jeans or anything.

Sorry for being so obtuse.
And I thought you wanted to become a 501 dealer...

One Thai guy I met swore that ALL Levi's were produced in Thailand.
So that would let me off the child labor guilt trip or not?

That's a no go, Waterlooplein in Amsterdam sells used 501's for next to nothing.
Just happen to need a brand new pair for those formal occasions like job interviews.

You'll likely pay about the same price as elsewhere. Maybe cheaper if you go for a cheap brand and not 501s. Plenty of Levis shops at many malls though.

Those are Microsoft Genes. You can have absolutely any color you want, as long as it's blue.

Er, excuse my confusion, but what do you mean when you say elsewhere?
Elsewhere like Ko Samui where I could pick up a pair of Levi's (501 black model) for about $US 20 (without quibbling)? or elsewhere like my jeans warehouse in Holland where I would be paying five times that amount?
Maybe cheaper if you go for a cheap brand and not 501s.
Definately maybe, or maybe maybe?

As elsewhere, I was thinking the US. A little cheaper, but for Levis. Obviously, there are cheaper brands to be had. Where are you coming from? What are you going to be doing? With the temps and humidity, if you're not used to it, I'd recommend shorts if you can. Dockers or something a little lighter than jeans, especially if you plan on going out anywhere.

Buying a pair of Black Levi's (501's) in Singapore in a few months if the prices is considerably lower than the current price in Europe.

.............um, buying as opposed to wearing.
Thanks a million for the tips, I've noted that "buy a cheaper brand" down, and may use it in the future.

Levis are one of the few "name brand" clothes I will buy.
Only because they are the only jeans that fit me right. And they last forever and are comfortable.
Well worth the small amount extra you might pay.
Some people however are too snobbish to even wear Levis.

No, you don't wear them for a practical reason. That wouldn't make you snobbish. Not wearing them just because they are "Levis" would be snobbish.
