It was close again. Bush I believe had the lead this time. He was a bit more prepared.

John felt it right between the eyes.

He wasn't as apologetic about John's waffling as he was last time.

This debate hurt John more than Bush.

i think they are petty even. As usual, Bush is strong on foreign policy but he is weak on domestic issue. You can sense that when he talks and he doesn't have the stronger vocal like when he talks about iraq. And Bush has no plans on how to fix up the domestic issue except attacking John Kerry's character issue.

Was it the second presidential debate?

This belong in the political lounge by the way.

On a related note: I'd really like to be a Kerry supporter. I hate Bush, like democrats generally, and think Kerry could be far more incompetent. I don't know, something about his face. Got a creepy look to him.

Please excuse my post, usually I don't knee-jerk (almost always rewrite my posts) but I had to say that.

Kerry has no plans period. And some of the ones he has, have already been shot down by the countries involved in said plans.

Kerry's only strategy in this debate was say "Bush doing bad, Kerry will do better" over and over with no substantial plan on HOW he plans on doing better.

Just lots of idealistic gibberish was no basis on reality.

How did I know that a thread about trying to find out if the debate was available in QT would turn into a debate about the debate? And it only took 3 posts.....

BTW, IMHO, Bush won this one.

Copy and paste into RealPlayer, as it will probably launch QuickTime Player otherwise: rtsp://cspanrm.fplive.net/cspan/project/c04/c04100804_debate3.rm?start=:04:44.0&end=1:39:4 4.0

From what I've seen, this time, it was even. Bush seemed better-prepared and highly focussed.

Well, it doesn't depend on either one of us individually. Of course we both find the candidate more convincing that shares more common points. But I was talking about the polls and they speak a different language.

Especially when you say that Kerry had a slight lead in the first debate which certainly is not shared by the reaction of (even friendly) newspapers. (Again, winning a debate, doesn't mean the respective candidate, nor does it mean he is more capable if he wins the debate, it's just about selling.) I honestly don't care about the debates.

Strikeout
Kerry blows the second debate.
http://slate.msn.com/id/2107963/

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...-2004Oct4.html

Polling at non-partisan website vote.com indicated, overwhelmingly, that George Bush won last nights debate versus John Kerry.

President Bush! (7,657)
(60%)
Senator Kerry! (5,028)
(40%)

And it goes on..

I guess it's subjective.

Yup, what I said. Quote different polls, get different answers.
Thing is, it's gonna be close again this year. Probably even if one candidate would totally destroy the other one in the debate (but we know this isn't gonna happen and mere speculation.

It'll be close and fun to watch from the `outside'
