not that i agree with 'abstinence-only sex ed' but that's not religion he's supporting.
it's a personal choice.

I've had to study that stuff and got my worst grade in (American) High School, I didn't fill out the `abstinence-only' section. Remember, those were still the Clinton years, and I don't think it got any better ...

If you want to preserve your virginity for whatever reason then he's right, abstinence is the only choice. I don't see where his religion comes into this.

He never said anything about religion. I know many non-religious people that feel the same way.
