This is insane, but very cool. This guy converted a SE/30 into a Windows 2000 server with 68k Mac emulation. I wish the had the skills to do this to my Mac Classic II.
• Motherboard: VIA EPIA MII-12000 with 512MB of RAM
• Disk: 40Gb Hitachi 2.5" drive
• Optical disk: Panasonic UJ-825 slotload DVD+/-R/RW, DVD-RAM, CD
• Display: Monochrome CRT - max resolution 800x600, S-Video and Composite Output
• Expansion ports: 2xUSB 2.0, 1x Firewire (an additional 2xUSB and 1xFirewire could be added)

Yeah, but now it can run Mac OS 7.5 much faster (15x) than before with the Basilisk II Mac emulation.

That's pretty sweet! The only thing that would've made it cooler was if it had been done with a Color Classic and a 9" color monitor. The Color Classic was such a good-looking machine.

I also want to fit an infra-red detector in the case.
What's that good for?

That is pretty freakin' cool. I like his commitment to the retro essence of the original SE/30, what with the B&W monitor and all.

I at least turned an old classic into a clock.. Or just a classic running a screen saver, but people love it.

I wonder if I can do this to one of my old Macs that I have around. The LC III should be possible, though not very challenging unless I have to squeze a CD-player in there as well. Maybe a slotloader instead of the floppydrive? The Performa 5300 is also possible, and has room for everything I'd need and more, but that is also far from challenging even if I have to get the monitor hooked up somehow.

I like it! Damn sight better than the one he links to in the top paragraph.
