Hey all
Here's a screen shot of my TV window generated by my Miglia AlchemyTV DVR:
It's TOTALLY fuzzy, and my assumption was that the image would *not* be fuzzy like this. Is this normal? Can any fellow AlchemyTV DVR users post screen shots of their video output?
TIA,
Maury

It depends on your cable system. some of my channels look great some look off, but they look off on a normal TV screen too.

I'm waiting on a box that has a digital input before I buy one. I don't believe any exist yet for mac. Many cable systems are digital now, they should make an eyetv that is Dig Cable ready.

since you asked:
it looks better on the screen than it does in a screenshot.

Here you go:
Quality varies wildly however, some channels are as good as this, some are as fuzzy as what you posted...

These people are Americans. Don't expect anything meaningful or... uh... normalcy...

some are perfect ... some suck $§!& ... needless to say, on the regular tv set they're all perfect ... I suspect it's the tuning software not being able to find the best frequency ... then again ... I tried to manually fine-tune some of the really crappy channels a couple of times with no improvement whatsoever ... maybe that Phillips tuner is simply not as good as it should be ...

Have you tried adjusting the preferences?
Preferences>Video Input? There are presets (off, basic, extended, best), or you can finetune per channel.

Yeah, it's looking like a not-so-great signal due to the old cable in the house. I plugged up a couple of different TVs to the same input, and you can see the "snowing" on the larger screens -- but the new cable drop (using the high-end cabling) has a much better signal.
Oh well, at least I know how to run cable, etc., so I may just completely re-drop this line (once get irritated enough with the picture to justify crawling through my attic).
Thanks.
Maury

Odd. I recorded a show last night and it looks perfect:
I wonder, could the image be better because I wasn't watching while recording? I had the TV window closed, and recording was going in the background. Does that make a difference in anyone's experience?
TIA,
Maury
