Sounds like the Apple store in Syracuse is going to open this Saturday! Should be much better then the current within a store setup at Compusa. See you there!

Now that Congel got his Green Bonds to turn Carousel into DestiNY USA USA, I wonder if we will get a real, fullsized Apple store somewhere down the way...

Maybe I'll see you guys there

Well, according to the story posted on the front page, Syracuse is not one of the stores opening Saturday. Glad I just took a day off for nothing. I'm sure I can find something to do though. I'm wondering when the hell that store will open. The Post-Standard had reported it was opening sept. 25th, but that didn't happen either. At least I don't think it did. Outside of a quick trip to EMS, I've been trying to avoid that god foresaken mall.

Looks like it's not going to open Saturday. I'm now throughly convinced that there really is no Apple store @ the Carousel. Does it really take 3 months to open a store??? Oh well. Sorry to get everyones hopes up for nothing.

I live not so far from the mall. I've been watching it develop. There's a CompUSA store near it too with its own Apple section. That's where I bought my iMac and iPod from. Too bad I could never get a job there though.

There's a big black sign with an Apple logo that says "Coming Soon" where The Museum Co. used to be by the food court. It would seem 'coming soon' is a rather subjective term.

I will be there when it opens. A few of my buddies from Cornell will probably join me. I'm not sure if we'd do the whole sleep-in-the-mall thing, but it would be nice to be one of the first people there.

I'm in Oswego, and work in Syracuse.

Well, if we ever get an opening date, I'll see you guys there. The first round of brews at Hooters is on me! I'm tempted to stop by saturday anyway, just to see if maybe it'll be open, but I hate having to go there if I don't have to.

Oye, things are getting quite busy at school. May not be able to take the day off. We'll see, but I might have to decide at the last minute.

I went to Carousel this morning to check out the Apple store. I got there about 9:20 a.m., and there was probably a couple hundred people waiting in line already.

When the doors to the store opened at 10:00 everyone started cheering, giving high fives, etc. Other shopper in the mall looked at the crowd as if we were wackos or something. One lady walked by and wondered aloud why the big fuss over a little store.

I never got inside the store. After an hour and a half of waiting, the line had barely moved. I'll go back either tomorrow or next weekend.

X2, I was gearing up for it this morning, the car has been acting up and I just said screw it. It's just not worth the free t-shirt to me to wait for 4 hours to get into the mini store.

I missed the grad opening of Alderwood Mall(Wash.) on Nov. 4th since I had to work.

Anyway, last checked on eBay.. one Victoria Gardens Apple Store T-shirt is up for a whopping $500 now. Should I say Mac zealots are crazy?

I got there this morning around 10 after 10 and got inline at 20 after 10. Waited an hour and entered the store finally. Nice, but very compact-hence the mini part of Apple Mini Store.

the store did look really small from my vantage point. I recognized a few of the Apple employees as former-employees from ATS (located here in Syracuse).

How was the 20-inch iMac?

The kid working there I was talking to said they estimated three hundred people in line when the store opened this morning. He said they gave away 500 t-shirts. They were long gone by the time I got there. I like the design of the store. I thought brushed metal would be a little over bearing, but it's not. The floor is pretty cool, it's solid white, with no seams. The guy at the store said it's poured, self-leveling vinyl.

The iMac is nice, it's the first time I've used one or even really looked at one up close. I might have to pick one up before too long.

Yeap... For regular AppleStore, first 1,000 folks recieve a T-shirt. However, only the first 500 vistors will get the T-shirt for the mini store.

I feel good as one of the 500 on the grand opening of the Southcenter Mall mini-store.

One of the tech guys that was wandering up and down the line was telling us that it was rumored that an individual threw up one of the shirt from the Stanford store and it sold for $300.

He also made mention of apple putting additional little surprises in random t-shirt boxes. No clue how much truth there was to that but I sure as sh!t know when I cracked mine open that there was only a black shirt.

I wish I could have made it, but I was too busy. My parents (mom, dad, little brother) were there and so were a bunch of friends from Cornell. I heard it was quite an affair.

I'll have to make it up sometime for a look, guess I would be more excited if I could purchase a tower instead of going downstairs to CompUSA to purchase an Apple product. Do they let you make EDU orders at the Mini Stores?

I just thought I would mention this. I wanted a shirt, but got there to late, so i figured I would pick one up on ebay. I think I bid a max of $15.00. Here's where the auction ended:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=5137193820

Are people really that retarded? I mean seriously, when I lost the bid on that one, I bid on the next one listed as NIB and I got that one for $9.99. Hmmm, a savings of $190.01 on a ****ING T-SHIRT!
