I got an email from Apple a couple of days ago saying that my auto renew didn't go through because the credit card had expired. I had never updated my account info. So, I went to accounts, updated my card, and went about my business as usual. Now, my .Mac account seems to have disappeared. I went to mac.com, and I get a big frowny face saying my account wasn't renewed. It says 'click here to access account information to renew" or some such nonsense. The problem is, when I click it, it tells me there is no account to access. WTF? Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Apple says they will get back to me in 72 hours. Thanks for the quick response guys.

That sucks; however, to Apple's credit you "should" have received an e-mail exactly 1 month prior to renewal that gave you fair warning to update your renewal settings and account information to avoid situations like this from the beginning...

Hopefully a positive resolution will come out of this though!

I also had to update my credit card and it went fine (not to rub it in or anything). Supposedly they keep your account for a period of time even if it expires, so hopefully you won't lose anything.

I think it's a full year. It will work out.

I was trying to fix it from a PC at work, and it kept telling me that I couldn't access my account. I got home, updated the credit info (maybe I never clicked submit before?), and I'm all renewed and good to go, nothing lost.

I hate when you find out that it was something minor like that. It's better than having something major go wrong, but it's something that gets you frustrated that didn't need to happen in the first place. Things like that irk me.
