No way in hell I would. It'll probably hit 49 to 52 in the next week. It's just now starting to reach it's actual valuation... not to mention all of Apple's cash. All IBM has to do is start shipping CPUs on time (not to mention the Christmas season will see even more increases in iPod sales) and it could turn into a nightmare for him.
EDIT: if he wants to short someone, short MSFT.

True story:
April 2003, I was ready to buy 1000 shares of Apple stock when it dipped to $12.70 (had the order queued up in Ameritrade and everything). But, I ended up putting it off and within a week it was back up to $18 ... so I figured ... I'm not gonna buy after it just went up 40%. . Its never stopped since. I didn't have the n#ts to make the purchase ... or I would have made 32.5k since then. Oh well, hindsight is always 20/20, isn't it ?

No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.
