Check it out.

I think it would be an excellent idea.
Just imagine how many business travellers would by iPods and gadgets just because they are bored.

As long as they still have free wireless access, I'm all for it.

It will be hard to make enough net earnings, with the high cost of airport commercial space.

Sandwiches and donuts have a high markup in price. Will these iPods be marked up too? Will Apple subsidize these "Airport Stores"? Will Mac dealers interested in airports complain about the unfair competition?

I don't think there will be markups.
I think Apple will look at this partially as extended marketing. Instead of paying for billboard space, let's have a store.

Maybe... but a focus on Powerbooks/Ibooks/iPods/Ap-express would be a good idea... less so on the G5

Don't try to outweird me, I get stranger things than you free with my breakfast cereal.

Have a kiosk dedicated to letting ipod users use iTunes and add music to their ipods. That could be done with little overhead. Stick a few ipods and accessories on a cart and BAM! - you got marketing. Even if all it does is break even, the exposure and mindshare alone is worth all the effort.
Do you want forgiveness or respect?
