Here's an article in current NYT tech section. I've included key sentences as NYT is a registration only site. It immediately struck me that the word "beleagered" doesn't appear once. In fact analysts and experts all seem to be SO optimistic about Sun's performance. And yet recent articles about Apple have barely restrained themselves from using the "b" word, even in the face of Apple's general financial well-being. Anyone who says that Apple fanatics are paranoid when they say the tech press is generally prejudiced against Apple could examine this.
and sorry if this is covered elsewhere. I did do a search.

Sun Reports Smaller Loss and Calls It a Turnaround
As it struggled to increase sales and cut costs, Sun Microsystems managed to reduce its net loss in the first quarter to $174 million, or 5 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $286 million, or 9 cents a share, in the quarter a year ago.
Revenues rose 3.6 percent to $2.63 billion, compared with $2.54 billion a year ago. The modest growth in sales fell short of analysts' forecast of $2.71 billion.
Excluding one-time charges, Sun earned $13 million for the quarter, breaking even on a per-share basis. The result was slightly better than the consensus earnings estimate of a loss of 3 cents a share by Thomson Financial.
Analysts said that given the challenges Sun faces in holding on to its market share in software and server computers, its performance was notable.
I'm impressed, actually," said Mark D. Stahlman, a financial analyst at Caris & Company. "It looks to me like they've set themselves up for a strong December."
