The mind-altering power of advertising has been demonstrated in a remarkable study of the way in which brand recognition affects the workings of the human brain.

Interesting read.

It's all about the lime... and, IIRC, only Coke has a lime-flavored version. Mighty tasty!

I doubt that there's a difference in sugar content.

Here in Canada, Loblaws supermarkets had their own brand of lime cola years ago, so Coke is playing catch-up.

I prefer coke. Pepsi betrayed me when they pulled pepsi blue; although I do enjoy some of their other pepsi-made drinks.

That was a fountain mixed drink, something that's been around since the 1950s. Having it in a can or bottle already mixed is something else entirely.

Flavored soda pop has been around forever, it's just that it recently started geting canned that way. The Pulp Fiction scene your talking about was in a 50's themed diner and the vanilla coke ordered had vanilla flavoring added to regular coke, but I doubt anyone with half a brain didn't already know this.

pepsi blue was crap, no one bought it - in a few weeks pepsi is coming out with "Pepsi Holiday Spice" pepsi with ginger and cinnamon.

True, but I enjoyed it.

Holiday spice? Ugh. Just won't work with Pepsi's bolder taste.

Pepsi is sweeter by 3 grams.

12 oz of Pepsi has 41 grams of sugar.

12 oz of Coca-Cola (classic) has just 39 grams of sugar

which explains why Pepsi wins most taste tests just on the intitial sweetness sensation.
So Coke came out with New Coke that was as sweet as Pepsi and people hated it for perception reasons (even though NEW Coke easily beat Pepsi in taste tests).

I prefer Diet Coke with Lime
