Hi!
I have 3000 page views per day, which I think it's enough to start making money from. But how?
Have any of you made good money with the PPC affiliate programs?(like Adsense, Clicksor, Targetpoint).
Thanks

making money off the web? Ha!
do your visitors a favor and don't be a corporate sell-out:
• you won't make a significant amount of money to totally offset your online bills.
• the work involved just to implement it is a pain
• don't sell your soul for 2.38 every week
i have no idea what your site is — but seriously, doesn't the satisfaction of having a sucessful site in itself enough? you should put up a link to your favorite charity instead.

I would rather see a donation button or something and have a fundraiser.
Cheap ads cheapen a site.

Is your audience likely to buy the music you suggest? You can sell them iTunes music and get 5% comission.

You can also put a link to your Amazon.com wishlist, or set up a Paypal donation link. If your audience has some emotional investment in you (your fans), then its more likely that they will donate.
I have no idea about the traditional ads on websites.

adsense is easy to set up. just do a couple and try it out. see what happens. there is nothing wrong with trying to make money off your site. Adsense is nice because you can control how much or how little it stands out, as well as controlling placement, and for the most part, the content on your page dictages the content of the ads, so you don't have some lame fake pc dialog box for your mac users.
some studies indicate that text ads are better at keeping the views attention than banners.
I don't understand how a successful site would make me happy if I wasn't getting any money out of it. (unless it is promoting some ideal that I firmly believe in, I suppose).
Check out http://webmasterworld.com That crowd will be more receptive to your question.

If you find a way to make money from a website, please let the rest of us know how you did it.
Apparently, the only way to make any significant money is to sell the website to somebody that believes they can make a profit from it.
I had a computer hardware/ distributed computing website ranked in the top-10, globally. I watched another similar website sell for $1.7 million (to Internet.com) that wasn't nearly as active. Needless to say, the ownership change ruined the site. And my own bad management ruined my site. But that's another story.
Believe me when I say I've thought of every possibility when it comes to making money from the internet. The only way to make significant money is to sell ideas. Don't own and manage websites - franchise them to others. Don't sell your products - license them to others so they can sell the products.
If you're really talented at developing web-based content that gets a lot of attention, you're probably not - also - the best person to be administrating the site. In other words, focus on your strengths and don't get sidetracked into doing the countless other tasks that are an offshoot of what you do best.
Until your data transfer is costing upwards of several thousand dollars monthly, your website is probably not going to pay for itself with banner ads. That's the level of activity that's required. I know a lot of folks with huge webhosting bills and tons of activity on their growing website...and their biggest concern is the cost of maintaining the site. If folks like that can't make money from advertising (and they can't) - then nobody can.
If 90 minutes of effort is worth $2.12 at the end of the month, then yes you can make money. But it isn't worth it, in my opinion. I'd rather have paid $2.12 to *not* have to look at that ad all month everytime the page loaded. Look at the website as a labor of love. It wouldn't have been half as successful if you were only in it for the money.
If your website is truly a useful one, then ask for donations and you'll get a lot more money than you'd ever get from banner ads. My site runs a budget surplus because of donations of cash, labor, and webhosting.
Create an environment free of commercial advertising. That's the best advice I can give anyone.

To the people who said you can't make good money off of a website or that it isn't worthwhile:
From my websites alone (not counting eBay or software sales), I am making about $2000 a month. Not bad for being 14 - sure beats the stereotype jobs of mowing lawns and shoveling snow.
Obviously, I'm not going to tell anyone exactly how I do it because I don't want the competition. But find a niche, exploit it, expand to new areas, profit, repeat.
It took me two and a half years to get to here, but I'd half to say it was worth it, both from a financial standpoint as well as for the learning experience of running a business, designing a website, managing my money, etc.
You can visit one of my sites, Ad Network Reviews ( http://www.adnetworkreviews.com/) for reviews and suggestions to help you make some money from your website(s).
Hope somebody found this useful, and good luck! You'll need it.

Scifience proves me wrong.
A quick google search yielded the answer to your success. It's just like I figured. You work hard and take advantage of every opportunity.
You'll be successful when you sell your ideas, too, as well as just implementing them.
Scary stuff. You make it look so easy.
While we create a site and wait for people to come - you create a site that fills a current need, and you get instant results.

I am glad Scifience showed the way to making money off of websites. Lots of hard work and a little money. Like all businesses, you cannot make money without money! Find something that proves to make money. Rinse and repeat. Do not keep all of your eggs in 1 basket. A little affiliate, a little banners, and some programming thrown in on the side. Also, I suggest http://www.webmasterworld.com as well. Good luck!
Oh and a good webhost will only cost around $8 per month... Very easy to make large profits with that!

I already have popups on my site, but I'm not making very much with that. I subscribed to http://publisher.targetpoint.com/aboutinfo, I read somewhere that they are paying better than Adsense. I can give up anytime I want, so I will try them for a while, and if I'm not content I try an other.
I know people who are making good money from their sites, at least this is what they are saying. If you have many visitors it's possible.

I remember a few years ago when I started out with that type of hosting plan. Now I'm spending $250 a month for two dedicated servers.
My hosting company is 1and1 - http://www.1and1.com/. They have all of the features and reliability of a big company, but the personal support of a small one. Once when I went over my bandwidth on one of my servers, I got a personal call from the head of the entire billing department! If anybody is interested, send me an e-mail or PM and I'll give you my referral link.
