Okay, this isn't for this screenname, this is for me. This place meant a lot to me, and I've been here...****.. since 1999 at some point on a regular basis. With this forum, I've discovered what liberals are, and why they suck, a lot of information about religon, moral questions, life, etc. It was pretty great. But honestly, the lounge is a complete sack of **** in it's present state. Back in the day, there were a LOT of interesting posts with a lot of interesting people writing a lot of interesting things. It seems that all that is lost, instead replaced with a bunch of pathetic ****ing internet geeks who couldn't get laid in monkey whorehouse with a bag full of bananas. "Oh gee my post count means so much to me!" And when I point out the problem with the +1 faggots, I get chastised for being a trouble maker even though I haven't even been posting very often? Uh, okay. Again, internet dorks. The poll results are quite obvious, the majority is ****ing annoyed at all the little chickenshits who think it's cool to waste space and bandwidth by posting a "+1" to everything, yet the ****ing administration ignores it, and locks my topic. Way to go! Let's give it up for the (total lack of) moderation!!! Then we have Kilbey. Wow. He openly admits to coming back to the forums just to try to irritate me, and he isn't banned?

Anyway, you guys can have your lounge, I'm not coming back. I've met quite a few great people through here, but guess what? They don't really post here anymore either. This place has become a big cluster**** of internet dork random aggression and pimply faced virgin lameness. So yeah, I'm out. Have fun talking about star trek, getting divorces, and... oh wait, actually there really isn't much substance in here at all, just a bunch of total ****ing retards who "+1" everything.

**** off!

PS: To all the people who are going to "+1" this thread, you really aren't even funny. I hope someday you realize how lame it is, and accept the fact that you have tiny dicks.

Oh, whatever, you'll be back. After you sober up.

But I agree that the lame factor has increased over the last ... well, year or so. I think it's just the election coming up.

Why do you have to leave such a bitter person? Why do you leave it with "**** you!" You'd think marriage would tone your attitude down a bit.

Robert has made a pretty good whipping boy around here, to be sure, but he's right about this (although, as usual, the message is lost in all that angst). This place really has taken a nose dive over the last four years. The quality of lounge posts was far and away better than what we get now. And lots of good, smart, contributing members have left do to the romper room like atmosphere that has developed. It's kind of sad, really.

It happens to every online forum. Once it gets popular, it usually goes down the tubes. I wish it wouldn't happen, but lives change, people come and go, rants here, flames there, hmm.. sounds a lot like life.

he does have a point, but he is still annoying... I say good riddance, although it did make for some good laughs... macnn has always been popular, i was just realizing today... that i have not gone to macnn.com in literally 2 1/2 years... it reminded me of when i first got aol and was exposed to chat.... I frequented the weather chat of all places, never did they talk about weather, but it was popular, and clean... the forums will grow and die with time, go away for awile, live a little, then when you are refreshed, come back and visit and see how the forum is, there will be the die hard members, and there will be a whole new slew of people, it is a community, it changes and grows.

I'm not talking about any specific mods in general but a little more control would help weed out the silliness. Lock threads down, delete people's +1 posts, be active in the community and try to raise the bar rather than clearing away the detritus after the fact.

And Rob, one serious question. Instead of creating silly threads like all of the +1s and this one and all of the drama queen antics, why not try and raise the bar yourself rather than whining about how things used to be better and how you'd rather run away than try and improve matters?

I'll miss your posts.

It was nice to have someone around who wasn't chicken when it came to voicing their opinions, even if it sometimes went against the majority. The world needs more of these type of people, because it needs the courage to change, to bring issues to attention, to grow.

I found it a pleasure to have you on the boards Ca$h. Perhaps I'll spend less time here, and find another younger forum, or perhaps I'll just get more in touch with my real life (friends, and family deserve the spare time that I devote to the internet).

So, I was glad to have learned from you.

If one just ignored posts not to their liking, there would be no problem. MacNN even facilitates it for those [basket]cases that manage to make themselves hard to avoid or just even just because one really dislikes the other.

It would be good, for starters, if the religious bunch here started practicing what they preach and start forgiving some more... NOT to make this a religion thread btw. Peace has to start somewhere, but it isn't likely to succeed if the initiative must lie with parties being trampled upon. Those on the supposedly moral/military high-ground will have to reach out first...

That goes for global conflict as-well as for MacNN squabble...

Ever notice that Rob has an unhealthy obsession about the size of other dudes' johnsons, be it the actual thing or some variation (car, computer, video card)? Wonder if he has a simple case of penis envy, or if he has urges that he can't explain and he's sublimating those homoerotic tendencies into his faux macho anger.

Any time someone posts something funny (or trying to be funny), or makes a boast of any kind, he thinks is just an attempt at boosting a small ego (with a small penis being the embodiment of such).

Thing is, there are people who believe that their opinion is the only one that matters, and that anyone challenging such opinion - be it with a good argument or bad - must be doing it for none other reason than to stroke one's ego (hence, try to make one's penis bigger).

Rob seems to have fallen in to this category... highly opinionated who thinks that anyone who doesn't share his opinion is a moron with a poor self image.

While perhaps it makes for a good internet persona, people like that tend to have trouble forming strong friendships in real life.

Personally, I think he takes many things, including forum posts here on MacNN (an inherently "geeky" place anyway), far too seriously. He'll be better off someplace else.

Whoa! Lean back and take a deeeeeep breath ... better? I have no problem with who Rob is - especially not as long as I don't have to be Rob If you had read my post a bit more thoroughly you'd have spotted the part where I said "It would have been more fun to argue with him ..."

I rarely areed with him, called him an idiot every now and then - but it was always fun to read how he "types" himself into a rage - I could almost see him, pounding away on his keyboard, getting more and more ticked off with every word he types ... very, very funny.

And I don't dislike anyone here - it's an internet forum for crying out loud. I come here to have fun and read an interesting post every once in a while. If I want to interact with people I dislike, I'm going to visit certain family members or the occasional retarded client - because those you don't get to pick and choose as easily

No, not really! but thanks for the effort

but rest assured, the post wasn't directed at you (i used 'one' instead of 'you'). I merely used your post as a 'coathanger' for my little rant. Now, that did feel better, although apart from making me feel better it probably was a waste otherwise...

I don't have anything with ca$h either (save a liking for his current username, which fits just fine). I don't care about cars at all.

It's just that i dislike the hypocritical attitudes some others have even more than the disturbances ca$h now and then likes to cause...

but enough already
