It only takes place in one country-two cities. Both teams wear red this year. Both cities have their own beer.
The players are rich and getting richer. the games are on so late that kids can't even watch. People are coming into work bleary eyed the next day- productivity suffers.
But in the end either the Red Sox or the Cardinals will be champions. Do you care, and if so who wins?

The games aren't late when you live on the west coast
Anyway, Boston's beer and baseball team are better than St Louis'.

I don't watch baseball. The outcome of the game will only only further the increase of millionaires income. I see no real effect to anyone otherwise, it's just a game. It would be nice if the Red Sox win. There should and is shame on the fans of this team after the loss of Victoria.

I've read each game is worth $2-3 Million (or more) to the local economy of each city. Revenues generated by restaurants, bars, clothing shops, hotels, etc. Taxes from the revenues also go to local governments for improvements. So it does affect more than just the "millionaires".

Exactly. Add David Ortiz to our lineup and you have more than made up the difference. The DH is such a retarded rule.

Can't wait to see Ortiz at first, handling those bunts, and low throws...
Nevertheless- Sox have WAAAAAAYYYY more intangibles. Fenway park, those fans, Schilling's ankle, Papi's extra inning magic, 86 years...

Point 1:
- Assuming this game goes to 6 Games, thats 3 games with DH and 3 games without. Assuming it goes to 7 games thats 4 games with and 3 games without. Not only that, but Ortiz is going to be in every game anyway. We lose Millar's bat for a couple games? not a huge loss...
MAIN Point:
- Regardless of what league or DH stats, to rule out the red sox because "St. Lious has too much firepower" is silly, because even without the DH, the sox has a pretty good lineup.

"World Series of Baseball"?
Redundant title. It's just "The World Series™©®"
edit: Oh, and Cards in 7. Boston will find a way to lose majestically, biblically, poetically.

As a resident in a city with a major sports championship drought that goes back to the 1964 Browns (three years before Super Bowl I), I'm rootin' for the Sox.

Manny is a strange outfeilder. Sometimes he makes great plays, alot of the time he doesn't. He isn't usually that bad though.

I haven't watched baseball since the Blue Jays back in 92-93. I watched the Red Socks win game 7 and now I'm gonna watch the final series. It's actually interesting again. Something seems different. It seems there are more runs and they change pitchers more often, although I was very young when I used to watch.

Do you remember that one play where he made the hilarious catch intercepting Damon's throw to the cutoff man? I was laughing so hard when he made that catch because he came from NOWHERE and made a great catch when he wasn't supposed to.

I have the Toronto Star from Oct 26th, 1992 with the headline "CHAMPIONS!" hanging in my room. It's an original and not one of those ones you can buy at the sporting goods stores. I should probably get it framed or something but I don't know if it's worth it because I really haven't taken care of it over the years.
We had already moved to St. Louis by the time the '93 series wrapped up but I have the St. Louis Post Dispatch newspaper with the headline "Carter's Pill is Phil's Ill" also hanging in my room. I wanted to get the Star from someone in Toronto but I thought of it too late (I was only 11 ). Those were some great series.

Why do they call it the "World Series" when it only has teams from North America?

Do you remember all the chanting from the Atlanta fans? Chanting and waving their tomahawks all game!
That was a fun time. It seemed like everybody in Ontario watched the final series, no matter how late the games went. There's still some of that excitement watching this series. I was your age back then too. Well, still your age now but you know what I mean!

I didn't watch the whole game because I was out drinking in Madison but what I did see was the sloppiest game of pro ball I have ever seen. And the fact that it was a WS game made it painful to watch those guys embarrassing themselves.

The tempo would have been considerably different if there weren't those two significant baserunning gaffes. Just horrendous.

I feel vindicated since I've been saying the Cards aren't really that good all year
Seriously, the NL was just weak. Any of the AL's playoff teams could have won the series this year.
