Deserves its own thread: iPod Socks

What on earth got into their brains? How is this gonna be worth $29 for a 6 pack? Why aren't they giving them away cheap as a promo?

When you were young and your heart was an open book, you used to say "live and let live."
But if this ever changing world, in which we live in, makes you give in and cry, say "live and let die."

I wonder if after they are done with U2, Apple will reach out to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. The RHCP's have a bit of a reputation with respect to socks. Maybe they could "promote" the iPod Sock during their next tour?

free .. yes ... 30 bucks for a multipack? (gets out the knitting book) ...

it's just a cheap sock (made in china or some other low priced labor force nation) with an apple tag sewn on .. pricey ... and considering the ammount of cases out right now ...

I 'anxiously' await the wooly hat that has a pod pocket, possibly with wired in 'phones.

Everytime I speak to someone with an ipod they say "pardon?"

And I like the look of these. Would like to see the other colours if anyone's able to track them down.

6 for $29.

Seems reasonable to me. 6 knit sock thingies with Apple logo tags? Seems about the price I would expect.

I still think Steve's done this as a joke, and there aren't really any Socks. (Why wouldn't they be available for pre-order if they existed?) Or Apple will produce them just as a goof, something funny for you to give the iPod-toting friends on your Christmas list. In which case I kind of like it; it shows Apple isn't taking itself too seriously.

I thought this was a joke. is it actually legit? I know apple announced it themselves but...
Do you think this could be some sort of sick experiment to see how many people blindly follow apple?

It is legit. And I believe that experiment was already conducted with the iPod.

Why'd he talk about and present them during the keynote, then? You could always give some away.

I might actually get 'em, and I don't even have an iPod. The Apple logo is that powerful.

Brilliant marketing of course. Multiple colours for everyone's iPod, with just the same white iPod. No need to deal with stupid housings for each colour (like cell phones), but your teenage daughter still gets a light-weight "case" that will match her outfit every day. This is going to be a great stocking stuffer (no pun intended), at $29.

The price is fair. They look like Hi-Quality socks too. I like'em.

Why don't they keep them in an obvious place in the Apple Store?? I've gone through it once without finding a single sock. :/

only when it's recharging or the hdd spins up .. then it'll retain heat marginally longer than without a case. =)

if you are talking emotionally ... on the other hand .. then yes ... it'll keep it emotionally warm and happy..
