Found the original story on another news source, but this guy sure can't get anything correct:

http://cbs.marketwatch.com/news/stor...w&dist=nbs

I thought I better add the text to what I'm talking about, before he changes/updates his article, loser.

With Apple CEO Steve Jobs, when the world hands him lemons he somehow makes Chateau Latour. This magic act has appeared once again this week as Jobs, Silicon Valley's most creative promoter, unveiled a premium iPOD portable MP3 music player in glorious red and black which contains the complete collection of over 400 U2 songs including some never released material. Emblazoned on the back of the little device are etched autographs of the band.

This may mark the most impressive bundling job anyone has done since Adam Osborne bundled $2000 worth of software into a $1500 computer and changed the desktop computing business forever.

It was just a matter of time before someone bundled an MP3 player with music. You can expect the competition to bring out a Beatles collection, the Rolling Stones, and just about anyone with a big catalog. After that expect to see genre collections. Old blues, bluegrass, you name it. The devices will all get special thematic design elements too, making them distinctive. Oh glory!

Meanwhile the 400 plus U2 songs will also be released as a stand-alone bundle for $149. This is far less than the 400-plus dollars it would cost to download the songs at 99-cents each via the iTunes online download system.

(emphasis added by me)

Not to mention he said the mouse was clumsy and would fail.

Wow, he's like... quick.

Who would've thought that Apple would use iTunes Music Store to sell iPods.

Ah yes. Another example of the shining unprofessionalism that is Dvorak's writing. He can't even bring himself to capitalize iPod correctly, when even the most ardent iPod detractors can. But then, it's not about the technology for him; he's just abusing his position as a journalist to fulfill a personal vendetta against MacWorld. Unfortunately, the article in which he openly admitted this (the phrase "the last MacWorld conference ever" played a key role in this article, if that gets more people to remember) seems to have been taken down.

Agreed. He's been quacking out of his anal oriface for 20 years... and his editor should just fire his ass.

As a journalist, I find it offensive to have him termed one as well. He's a hack and an apologist for M$. He's also a talking head and his inane views pull in readers (love him or hate him, just read him) and that = $$,
Though I personally find it funny to read his column. He's almost completely wrong. Not a little wrong, not wrong at times, but consistently wrong, Iraqi Foreign Minister spokesman wrong.
And if he says something is bad for Apple, bank on it being a hit. And heaven help us all if he ever makes the switch and lauds about it.

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.

You're all angry. That means he has done his job, and consequently, he has now been paid.

He used to be in MacUser too, back when it was published. He is not an MS apologist, but his entire mandate is to write stuff to get people upset. He does it on the PC side too. That's his shtick. He's not meant to be taken seriously.

I seriously can't believe he would make a mistake like that. All he had to do was go to Apple's website and read the details of the new releases.
Dual 1 ghz MDD with 80 gig and 1.25 DDR
17' Flat Panel Studio Display
14' 800 mhz iBook 30 gig and 256 SDRAM

I know I got beaten by the above post, but this is why Mac users still aren't taken too seriously.

It would be if it was used everywhere. Better than Qwerty anyway.
