I'm moving Saturday and all of my help is falling through! My wife is 5 months pregnant so at least she can carry the computer!! (glad I switched from my iMac 17" to a 12" PB!)
I used to hire my students to help me (I teach percussion) but this year they are going to Six Flags for the day cause our marching band made it to STATE last week. I think I'm in for a big day tomorrow.
Please, wish me luck
How about some good moving stories!!!

I do wish you good luck SeSawaya. Is there anyway that you could postpone until your students are available?

Good luck! And don't hurt your back trying to lift too much. It's not worth it.

I'd help you, but I doubt I'd be able to cross the atlantic before you're finished.

No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

good luck man, if i lived close i'd help. moving sucks, i moved 7 times in the last 7 years from apartment to apartment, i am staying in this apartment until my wife and i get a house. the worst experience i ever had moving was moving about 3 hours from ND to MN and it was downpouring for like 1 hour. all of my things in the back of my dads pickup were soaked. it also sucks when you are too cheap to buy a uhaul and you have to do like 10 trips to move all your **** in the back of a small ford ranger

ha! Thanks guys I'll be sure to wait until you all get here!!!!
spent most of today tearing things apart. I just got most of my percussion gear moved, thats more than most people HAVE I think
rozwado1,
I'm moving just across town w/ her mom so its not a big deal. We rent this place & are looking to buy in Feb. Her house is huge & shes alone so it will be fine for a few months. Then I get to essentially do this all again!
now BACK TO WORK my wife yells.

My greatest moving feat ever is lifting and carying a washing machine by myself. I would not recommend trying it, I had some serious aches after.
Good luck. Take it slow and dirink lots of water.

I hate moving. If a friend asks me to move I usually just offer to chip in and help hire movers. In the end, I usually help out and drink my fair share of the beer though.
And remember this little saying:
"A friend will help you move, a real friend will help you move bodies".
