Does it matter if I am student in the country I wish to purchase from? For example I'm a UK student but can I buy from the US at .edu prices while visiting there?

Maybe you should get an ISIC?

Why not ask Apple? We can't tell you what their policy is.

I thought this might be an easily answered question that would save me the hassle of phoning around the Apple call centre. Oh well. I'll ask them about London tube discounts while I'm at it.

I've bought all of my apple stuff at the edu price and haven't even been asked once for any student id.

Just go ahead, try buying with it, and if they ask for your ID, show them! There's a 99% chance they won't scrutinize it, after all you are a student.

I thought that's one of the things this forum did best.

It's a rather specific question that likely turns on the fine print of their policies. It might also depend on such things as whether you will be studying at a US school while you are here. I would contact Apple, and also be prepared to get multiple answers. I have found that the people in the edu store could use a little edu themselves.
