In Canada, I think everyone does.

In some places in the US not all do.

I have no idea why though.

Anybody in Indiana want to weigh in on this?

My Mac did indeed do it for me, but my alarm clock fails to pay attention. I told my Mac to let it know when it was time, but no matter how much the Mac tries, the alarm clock won't listen.

Any advice on how to get a stubborn alarm clock to listen to my Mac? Is it a technological superiority complex? Is it something that can be solved with drugs or intense psychological treatment?

Drugs may or may not work. YMMV.

Maybe it is time to invest in one of those atomic clocks.

Also, while you are at it changing your clocks, it is usually a good time to check/replace those smoke detector batteries.

We got in on it maybe 15 years ago or so. Up here in the north there's a point, kinda. The mornings are lighter in the fall/winter and days last longer in the spring/summer.

The original point was to save energy (German invention).

I live here! and my Mac changed time on me. I didn't realize that it changed and I'm sitting here starving and wondering why it isn't lunchtime yet and then I see this thread and sure enough it's already 12:30 not 11:30 like my Mac clock is showing no wonder I'm hungry.

Thanks for reminding me, now I have to go and reset all my automatic clocks.

I've tried and tried to set my alarm clocks but I just can't seem to do it. Does anybody have any tips on how to get a 7 month old baby and a cat to understand all of this time change junk?

Never quite understood the point of Daylight Savings. It can be nice in the Fall, getting a extra hour of sleep (though, it's on a Sunday, so it's not like you can't just sleep in anyways), but in the Spring it can really throw you off.

For me, setting the clock back in the Fall means I have to get up a 5:30 now rather than 6:30. I have a 3yr old who seems to have her internal clock set to wake her up at what used to be 6:30, which is now 5:30. Unfortunately, I can't set her clock back and it will take her at least a week to adjust.

My alarm clock did change on its own as usual.

Anyone know of one that allows alarms to be set based on the day of the week? Mine does weekends or weekdays, but because of my workshift overlapping into the weekend it doesn't help.

Yes, set our alarm clock back prior to bed. Had to get up early for a job at Church. My Mac changed the time on it own.

Correct on the equator comment. Daylight time changes, but not as drastically as those near the poles. Hence Alaska and its so-called 6-months of twilight.

I heard from those "as seen on TV" commercial.. which the alarm clock automatically sync to the right time when you plugged it in. I'm not sure how it really works..

It's a time code broadcast on UHF (TV) frequencies. Usually a PBS station. That's how the VCRs do it.

A few years ago the California legislature wanted to enact daylight saving time year round to save energy. Don't recall want happened to it though, I think they needed federal permission.
