[X] None of the above.

Though, Guiness draught is excellent.

Guiness with the nitro "widget" (can or bottle) isn't bad.

Their regular stout in a bottle is just nasty.

Right now my favs are Anchor Porter and Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout.

Ok, Ok, it's a type of beer, specifically a "porter".

But seldom referred to as a beer, as in "shall we pop down the pub for a pint of Guinness?".

Your argument could be used with any beer if one so chose to use such an argument. Guinness is no more special than any other porter or stout.

Indeed, there should be separate polls for ales, lagers, porters and stouts.

In fact there should be a beer sub forum.

In the linguistic supremacy you grant it, I'll have to grant your question an affirmative answer.

Guinness is good, no doubt, but I have a taste for other dark beers when available. Fullers Porter has a great coffee richness to it (although I'm not always in the mood for that overwhelming intrusion); Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout--while overrated--is also quite wonderful. Guinness is plainer, and good when one is just in the mood for a dark beer.

meah i can score the 750 Ml bottles in a store 5 min from my dorm, for 9 bucks, or a 4 pack of bottles for 10ish

if you like Duvel try and score their American Version, Brewed in Cooperstown NY, its Ommegang, a little bit milder then Duvel but about half the price.

750ml bottles for $9? That's expensive. It should be closer to $6...maybe even cheaper.

I have one. Got mine in Brussels, in the supermarket, if I recall, with a pack of 2 or 3 duvels.

Free. It's cool, but it's just a funny glass.

eTennants Blue Tri-Band Turbo SoaveLager individually bottled using only the fairest hand-blown Perthshire taupe silica glass which has been lovingly exhumed from the purple hills of Lower Comrie. Only to be decanted from the bottle at full moon over an Inveraggie charcoal bonfire by those Auld Reekie galoots who sport beards & unknowingly reveal a tremendous pretention towards the mere & futile act of getting horizontalled.

Tap.

It is no beer.

It's a nutrient.

It's liquid top soil.

It's a food group.

It's a meal.

It's everything you need.

Out of the Guinness options...

Extra Stout, on tap.

Failing that, Draught on tap.

Failing that, Extra Stout in a bottle.

Failing that, something else.

is the taste supposed to be that strong? or is it just a bad batch? ... stella is by far the best tasting, smoothest beer i've ever drank, and it has a pleasant aftertaste and throat feel. (no jokes ashholes) ... even my dad likes stella after originally thinking it was crap beer .. he hadn't tried stella previous and even he thinks it's good stuff... his pick for best beer would be st pauli girl btw.

you haven't tasted a real ale

Or for that matter, you could also go for:

which is excellent...
