I sure hope they start offering upgrades or something. Send in your laptop and have the coating applied to your LCD. Or maybe a spray bottle or something so you can coat your own CDs and DVDs.

it should be Apple's #1 priority to slap a coat of that on the 5G iPods to stop the bitching (about that, at least) once and for all

Forget just the iPods, how bout all manner of things! My PowerBook could use a coat, my iPod mini could use a coat. My digital camera, heck my tablet could do with a coat! There's all manner of things that could benefit from this sorta tech!

Sounds like that'd be a good solution for car finishes as well. Conventional clearcoats are ridiculously easy to damage these days.

You'd think the MPAA would be behind this technology 500%. This would cut down significantly on the "reasons" why people need to "back up" their DVDs.

MPAA would rather you have to buy two copies after the first one gets a gash and is no longer readable
