He tried once more to convince the victim to believe in God, but this time, he had the shotgun...

A 49-year-old man said he'd just blasted a man with a revolver and a shotgun because the man said he didn't believe in God.

The dispatcher said the alleged shooter told him he'd just shot "the devil himself" and was still armed and standing over the body of the 62-year-old victim "in case he moved."

"I want to make sure he's gone," the alleged shooter told the dispatcher.

http://www.freep.com/news/cfp/3/vshoot28_20041028.htm

At the police station, the suspect commented that he believed there is a God.

Then, looking at the floor, he seemed to have second thoughts: "Maybe there's not," he said

Why is it that those big believers in God have to KILL everyone who disagrees with them?

One man is dead and the other should get the death sentence.

This obviously had nothing to do with God, the man was simply off his rocker.

I'd say life. He did commit murder, it wasn't premeditated, and he is clearly a few bricks short of a full load.

Well, for the guy off his rocker, it had something to do with God. but it wouldn't matter what the reason was. He would have killed the other guy even if he was proclaiming peanut butter as the best and the victim firmly stuck with jelly.

A little late, but it seems as if the 'suspect' had a reverse epiphany
- and because of his actions came to the sane conclusion that there
is no benevolent caretaker god - Another victim of religious irony.

Detroit/ Michigan state will probably murder him for his religious enthusiasm.

Oh shut it. No one wants to hear your senseless blather now any more than they did before. You're a pathetic little man.

Although I do agree on one tiny point: there is no caretaker God. This isn't a rest-home after all.

well to answer the thread title...

when I am dead, and I see god, I will believe...

otherwise, there is nothing that I have ever seen or witnessed that told me there was a god, I have only heard other people tell me there was...

Also responsible for more advancement, compassion, stability, unification and preservation than any other cause. It is literally one of the most powerful forces ever conceived, naturally it can be used for good or bad. Hitler was german, does that mean germans are bad? Osama is a muslim, does that mean all muslims are terrorists? Nuclear power has caused an amazing amount of suffering and death, does that mean its wrong?

In other words you cannot go around using utterly simplistic blanket statements that fall apart on further inspection. Also I will bust your ass every time you try to pass on such tripe.

Religion is a narcotic - peddled by fools, the weak and the mad.
Remove religion and it's personification of a benevolent sky cult
with divine justice and you won't be able to blame man anymore for
being just that - a man. Remove the high stakes and we are all on
the same plateau.

... and who said anything about a death penalty. People hang
themselves in jail all the time.

...and Killjoy lighten up, you are just a few moments of torture away
from your own personal ever lasting rapture - that you can bet on.

Poor little benign. I really don't think this is even worth replying too because I've done it so many times, some people just can't move on.

I've never seen a poet with worse punctuation. Or a wanna-be poet. Why don't you just write in haiku?

Are you that insecure that you rely on taunting people due to their physical appearance? That says a lot about you.

Funny how people are funny when they call Mike obese. But I can say the same thing about you and it becomes suddenly not funny.

I'm worrying about your health. Is that being insecure?

Why do you lie so much? Do you like Kerry that much that you emulate him?

And by the way, you are right. Michael Moore is obese. It is not funny.

Here's what http://ets.freetranslation.com/ gave me:

"Who on the Earth could be jealous of your exasperating one and of your existence lacking in direction."

My reply:
You! Is it fun trying to insult someone in a language they don't speak?

Or are you that horrible at English. Maybe that's it! We really agree on most things, you just mangle the English language so badly you are misunderstood. I can accept that.
