I just called apple and they said they lost my rebate for the good looking promo (free printer with mac deal). I am trying to find out if this has happened to a bunch of people. They say there is nothing they can do. I am mad!!!!!!!!

I know this won't really make you feel any better, but you should keep it in mind for the future. If the rebate is worth more than $20 or so, I always send it with delivery confirmation for $0.55 so that I can prove if they got it.

I've had plenty of problems with rebates, which is why I usually avoid them like a plague. Specifically to your case, I've done Apple printer rebates twice, and both times I've had difficulty getting the money. Once I got a letter from Apple stating I did not qualify for the rebate because I had submitted late. This was untrue, but they had taken three months to process the rebate!
Besides the length of time it takes to get the money back, the technicalities you must comply with are such a royal pain that I really hate rebate gimmicks.
BTW Right now I'm waiting for Cingular rebates on three phones I purchased from them in August. THe rebates application were sent in mid August, I have yet to receive the check. I have made numerous inquiries, the latest after I received two letters from them apparently stating I did not qualify for the rebate. Latest ETA is early December.

Yeah, I've been burned a couple of times on rebates. I always make sure to double check all rebates, and remind myself when they should be coming in. Especially for those juicy $100 hard drive rebates I so often buy.

They say no matter what, there is nothing can do. Even if I send all the original boxes and receipts. That's BS! I think I am going to buy the domain applescrewedme.com and start a web site for people to share there bad experiences with apple. Apple has always seemed very arrogant about how they treat there customers. They think that no matter how bad they treat them they will still buy. If anyone wants to host it or do the design let me know.

Don't you have copies of all your stuff? Send it in. Delivery confirmation? Use it for all rebates from now on.
If not, you are not playing it safe with rebates. This is not new and companies lose rebate info all the time. I have sent in about a hundred rebates over the years and had to resend the stuff about twice. I have never not received a rebate.
