A new documentary for PBS from Douglas Rushkoff. Catch it on the 9th at 9pm.

FRONTLINE takes an in-depth look at the multi-billion dollar "persuasion industries" of advertising, market research, and political campaigning._ To cut through mass-media clutter and to overcome consumers' growing resistance to their pitches, marketers have developed new ways of integrating their messages deeper into the fabric of our lives. Correspondent Douglas Rushkoff explores how the culture of marketing has come to shape the way Americans understand the world and themselves, and how the influence of marketing on politics has profoundly impacted our political culture and our democracy.

not true.

yelling works surprisingly well underwater. I know from when I *almost* set down my foot on a stone fish while diving.

Saw it the other night. Very well done.

And yes, they make plenty of references to Apple. I figure that should be motivation enough for some of you.

Agreed. Great 90 minutes. Frontline is usually an interesting program... Even moreso when the subject matter is so compelling. I had to laugh at them spending so much time with Song (Delta Air Lines' attempt at being low-cost and hip). That company is on the brink of bankruptcy and they're spending cash on abstract TV commercials to convince people they're... Anyway.

Great show.
