Help,
The BSA "Business Software Alliance" sent a letter to my uncles company.
The letter told him to not remove any illigal software from his company's computers because they could tell and he has 7 days to contact them.
They want to fine him up to $150,000 per pirted title per seat. He does have quite a few pirated pieces, he thinks. He is not the sharpest at computers.
Has anybody had an experience with these BSA letters?
Why can't I go in and deep level reformat all of his computers to destroy all evidence?
If I do copy his employees Microsoft User Data identities to an external drive, reformat, install real software, then copy the identitie folders back, could they still tell he had pirated Offices at one from invisible codes embeded into the identities?
Please advice, time is short.
Thank you,
nephew
p.s. He wants to do the right thing and buy all new software for all computers. But any fines would put him out of business.
