Ya talk about hype. I got one, used it, it sucks and I have need for it.
Haven't touched it in over a month.

I find it to be the best e-mail system I have ever used. Searching through my mail Google-style is invaluable. No longer do I have to painfully file everything away in separate folders in Mail.
The interface is also really slick and the threads work quite well. It's nice to be able to check my e-mail from any machine and always have it look and act exactly the same.
My biggest beef with Gmail is the contact list, but that has been getting better, and had a major overhaul a little over a month ago.

The interface is what bothered me the most, ugly and it was hard to even find "delete". At least at the time I used it.

Yeah, they don't really want you to ever delete anything, so they hide it in a dropdown. Making it more accessible is listed on their page of most requested features, though, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was added, soon.
