i have just successfully - well in part - put a new HD in my dual usb iBook. however when it came to re-install jaguar from the CD's provided with the iBook nothing happens. it comes up woh the folder flashing the finder icon and a question mark.
i have tried firewire mode resetting the PRAM and boothing on cmd-v. none of these have worked i have also tried booting from CD (hold c on boot)

i need this fixed quick as i need it for school tomorro. any advise guys thanks!

boot into target mode and use your g5? or clone the drive from your g5.

your g5 will play into this, i'm sure.

If you have a firewire enclosure then put the old HDD into it and boot your iBook from it by holding Option at startup. ALternatively putting your G5 in T-disk mode and doing the above with your G5 as the firewire drive may work.
If booting from the CD doesn't work then I don't know what's wrong.
Did eveything seem to go OK when you replaced the HDD? You did plug the new one in, right?

If you post in the iBook/OS X forum there may be more technical people able to help.

I was going to offer a suggestion as well, but gee, what a jerky attitude.

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.

Suggesting you place your question where it is most likely to get the answer you need doesn't call for that kind of nastiness. And yet the Americans are the wankers. Go figure. Feel free to post this again in the right forum.
