I have 800 mp3s I'd like to find album art for, but I don't have the album names in the ID3 tags. I need to know the best way to find which songs are on which album without having to Google (or Amazon) each album to find out.

Is there a database somewhere that's easier to search than amazon (ala text-based)?

There are plenty of lyrics sites available on the web. I use http://www.lyricsondemand.com/ when I want to look something up. Just click on an artist's name, and search the page for the song title.

I don't know of any easier way of doing this. For 800 mp3s, it may take you a while.

if you just want the album art there are programs that'll search for album art for you mp3s. They're not perfect though.
Take a look over at Version Tracker.
