Since certain people can't even keep their head cool in the Political/Lounge version of this thread, I don't believe that the idiots from palestine/israel can do so...

My prayers go out to his family and friends. May he rest in peace. Sad that he was unable to realize of dream of peace and a Palestinian State. May his death bring on a real push to a fruitful peace.

That's a little narrow sighted. At the time, he was making major inroads towards peace. It just fell apart. He received it his Nobel Peace Prize in 1994.

Perhaps we should take this outside, but Henry Kissinger comes to mind.

Arafat was a disgusting human being, the worst of the worst, and a person who's death was long overdue. He was an evil arab, a bad muslim, a terrible leader, a corrupt thief, a conniving murderer, and a filthy terrorist. He's lucky that he died in a frenchy hospital, and didn't find himself on the recieving end of a hellfire, which would have been more appropriate for the old geezer.

In roads for peace? He was given just about everything he wanted and more in Oslo and didn't take it. How is that an in road to peace? He could have taken that then built from there. You need to start somewhere with peace and him not accepting anything showed he didn't want peace. Also if he wanted peace he would have stopped funding terrorist organisations.

Arafat WAS a terrorist.

I would be doing more than dancing on it if I were there. Then again I wouldn't even visit it in the first place.

aww crap. i remember hearing over the BBC news that several armed palestinian groups *ahem* vowed to continue attacks on Israel.

as for all the terrorist talks .. I remember being very upset and thinking the same way for a while... but ... I HONESTLY believe he wanted the best for his people ... maybe i'm naive... i think as of late, israel hasnt tried ITS best either ... and it's all gone downhill ... *sigh* ... ignorance is bliss .. why do i keep up with politics and world affairs?

I probably would be shot, depending upon where I found myself in the world.
