...his goal is to own a copy of every song ever recorded.

The Music Man – king of the pirates has a goal, to own it all.
He has downloads going 24/7 - 900,000 songs and counting.

“Golf is the most boring game in the world, what I am doing is
much more fun.” he says in his pirate room – A MacGeek’s
heaven on earth.

And yet he says he works 16 hour days. He's definitely insane. Good intentions, but insane.

MacNET: So, how do you do it? What’s you typical day like now?

Doug: Well, I still work. I’m an attorney with a rather large practice. I work 16 hours a day. So I start my day in this room and it ends in this room. I spend my weekends in this room. That’s not to say that I never do anything else. The good thing about this setup is that I can start a session and leave for several hours. But there is a lot more to this than just downloading music.

If the RIAA sues him for all that music. Well. I don't think he'll be living in quite as much luxury any more

This is true, but since they tend to target the sharers more than the receivers, it might keep his activities off the radar. Unless they actively seek him out specifically, which they could do.

That said, the worst thing I’ve done was enjoy the new U2 album before I bought (MY emphasis) it. I feel guilty about it, I really do. But I’m no saint, I have weaknesses like everyone else. That doesn’t justify it, I know, but…
Wonder what his 'ex-model (the) boobywife' is really doing while he wankmacs?

Doug: Sure. Why not? I am preserving our history. When the world goes up in flames in this jihad against all things Western, music will be one of the first casualties. I want to preserve that. No matter what it costs.
I think this retard is on something stronger than 'Grand Mariner'

Well, I'm sure he'll be able to fly beneath the radar as long as he doesn't get his activities documented in an online article or anything... hey, wait a minute...

Just what I was thinking. "Hey I'm downloading a whole shitload of music, look at me!!".

Reminds me of when I used to work at a pizza shop, and a nice lookin' chick would come in. She'd order her food, and I'd sometimes give the better lookin' ladies a discount and say "Ah, just make it 5 bucks". A good 50% of them would then exclaim:

"OH WOW THANKS, REALLY? $5 IS FOR MY WHOLE SUPER BIG PIZZA??"

...with me trying to shut them up as the boss wanders over

Moral to the story: If you're getting a good deal that may not be 100% legit, don't go telling the whole world!

It's ironic, because I have just about the same views this person has with respect to Western culture, and it's pending demise. The thing is, I feel you are not intellectually astute enough to understand this. You'd have to think, and maybe use your brain to assist you in the process.

Two... we better keep you guys apart so you don't breed. That kind of stupidity is dangerous.

Perhaps in a few hundred years the culture will have changed significantly. Demise of western culture? I think not. Only the select few who wish to think they are extremely clever go with that idea. The only time they aren't thinking is when they're huddled in the corner giggling at their own intelligence.

There's no way he has every song ever recorded. I don't there's a person out there that has The Jets-The Truth in any kind of form of digital media.

MacNET: Have you ever considered offering a 'black market' iTMS?

Doug: Heavens NO! I don’t think there has been a single song pirated from my collection. Even my kids are not allowed to load up their iPods with any of this.
What's the point of "preserving our history" when no one else is alloyed to listen to it? Also, his political doomsday rhetoric is very idiotic.

MacNET: Are you serious?

Doug: Absolutely.
