I'm sure that many of you guys are ugly.

So, my fellow ugly guys...do you ever get depressed about your looks? How do you cope with the fact that a girl could never be attracted to you in the way that you're attracted to a cute girl? Does it ever piss you off when your parents and friends insist that you're not ugly, when in reality you look like a freak?

I'm just wondering...

Note: Please don't talk about my looks, because you don't really know what I look like...no picture that I've ever posted is very good.

Another Note: This is not an ugliness support thread. I've just been thinking about how most people in the world are ugly (on some level), and most people have to come to terms with their ugliness. This should naturally be somewhat painful, as it seems hard to know that people could never be truly physically attracted to you on all counts. After all, underneath everything, we're all just barbarians!

Edit: Yes, we should all be thankful that we're not severely handicapped, as this would be far more of an annoyance and a...handicap...than being ugly. Still, ugliness is something that almost the entire world deals with, whereas other impairments are automatically a huge part of someone's life. No one really thinks twice about how the ugly people feel...they're just...well...ugly. It's hard to explain, and I'm also tired as hell.

charisma, find yours. then get over it and admit that maybe a girl might like you. they're crazy like that.

and not to mention that any woman that won't date you because of how you look is either a total idiot.... or way to hot for any of us.

Don't worry, I have the charisma and personality aspect covered.

The issue isn't with girls...that was just an example. It's just about confidence. Being ugly just doesn't seem fun!

Girls don't care much about looks, though? I find that odd, seeing as how guys seem to really care about looks. I'm definitely a "personality is everything" kind of guy, but I'd still want a cute girlfriend. I find it hard to believe that girls aren't the same way.

Note: Wow...you're at Cornell, so you must have just woken up...whereas I haven't gone to bed yet. Strange.

this is very very true. keep this in mind. and, no, for some wonderful reason girls (at least the girls i have had.... flawed sample? DUH!) are much less picky about looks than guys are. dunno why, it just is. there are still little things you can do... shave... keep clean... smell good. and those seem to go a very long way. just be a listener. and find your angle. any guy can get some.

go rent "the tao of steve" now.

I really am not looking to "get some," and as I said, this thread ain't about girls...it's just about the strange phenomenon that I've noticed...that most people in the world are on some level ugly.

As for hanging in there...thanks dude . I'm fine, though...just a bit tired. I think I'm going to go to bed now.

Plus, even if I wasn't fine...this forum would not be the ideal place to get ugliness counseling. And that's how you know that ugliness counseling is not at all what I'm seeking...just a discussion about the strange phenomenon of the widespread existence of and dealings with ugliness.

Okay. Bedtime.

everyone is ugly in some form or another. the multi trillion (speculation) dollar fashion industry is a testament to this.

This is true, but I think that most people would agree that Brad Pitt is less ugly than Stephen Hawking.

how old are you? everyone has their "ugly" years...not that i am hot stuff now but i remember from about 8th grade to 11th grade i was a freak show...dressed like an idiot, had ugly hair, big dorky glasses. i'd say after high school i dressed better, wasn't so skinny then i got attention from the ladies. even today i don't think i am all that attractive...i'd be willing to bet most people don't think they are either. i'd have to say my personality got me laid alot more then my looks ever did, and i scored an awesome wife in the process. don't worry about your looks, there are alot worse things that could be wrong with you.

I think you should shut your trap first of all.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. One of my good friends looks like Brad Pitt and he gets sex constantly because of this. The thing is though that it's meaningless - the girls are just looking for a 'hot piece of ass' (i've heard many girls refer to him like that). Tav- I'm guessing that you're out to get more than just a piece of ass, so you may be better off not looking like Pitt because then girls won't just use you for sex. Once you find a girlfriend, you'll realize that you don't look as weird as you think, or at least someone else doesn't mind it.
I really am not looking to "get some," and as I said, this thread ain't about girls...

Living the life of a hermit ain't bad.

Depressed?
"ohmygod I just got a zit! Damn!"

Is that what you mean?

Most of the girls at my school are hogs, so I shouldn't have to worry about anything. I mean, if they are all obnoxious hogs, what's the point in worrying about looks in the first place? And to make it worse, they all dress like Rob Halford.

We're all ugly, so we'll have to deal with it. If we weren't we wouldn't be posting on a Mac message board.

With a build like that, you shouldn't be complaining.

Look, there's a whole lot more to a person than their looks. And those supermodels you see in the media -- they look something short of gods, but they have no souls.

Tavi, you appear to have a few skeletons lurking in your closet that just got out.

I suggest creating a new alias on here.

These guys are going to hound you for years with this stuff.

Lastly, if you think you're ugly, your personality has made you that way. I have had very good looking women go from a 10 to a 4 just by opening their mouth and saying "I'm so ugly". Their negative attitude makes them extremely unattractive.

Wow. It's amazing what being tired can do to a person. I really don't even think I'm ugly...I find that I have a certain big-nosed cuteness to me .

It's wonderful that you guys are browsing through tavilach.cjb.net. Really. Everyone I know has seen this stuff, so it's not as though I give a rat's ass about what you've seen...

The movie with me and a dress was taken during Purim. I dress up as a girl every year on Purim. Damn, I looked ugly .

As for the tavi_sexy picture, that's an old picture, and I still love it.

Edit: I love that Hartnett picture . My friend had been telling me that they thought he was oh so "hott," so I thought it'd be a fun little exercise to turn my nerdy 10th grade self into him. It worked amazingly well, and crap were they freaked out!

Oh, and if you didn't notice, my Blofile is a humor site, and these pictures and movies have all been posted in the blofile at some point or another. None of them are good pictures of me, because they're all wacky pictures of me.

To be honest, you seem like the kind of kid that could do well with one of those MTV style makeovers. You have some potential, trim your eyebrows, shave, get some chapstick, get some nice clothes (geek tshirts are cool, I have many, but some nice shirts and pants are a nice classy look), and start to workout a little.

Or, you can follow my hawt fashion tips:
Grow your hair out long…er
Acne wash?
Grungy old shoes, the more faded, the better
Some busted up old pants. Not prison fairy baggy, but average
A dumpy old bad shirt. The more beat up and old school, the better

Works fine for me.

for serious, I do good work. Just focus (not in a creepy way) on the girl you want, and be yourself minus the lack of confidence and self pity.
I know some really ugly kids doing good work with the ladies 'cause they weren't cocky, but showed confidence, personality, and interest.
