And when these kids are older, they won't be able to explain to their therapists why they have never known the pleasure of a woman's company...

Because if teenagers don't have real problems, they pretend to and act angsty. Same reason why nerds insist Neon Genesis Evangeleon is intellectual.

Not really. The dykes at our school dress like they have an S&M fetish but are usually in the lower middle-class bracket.

Which derelict corner of our fair island do you live if you think those guys are "rich"?
Interesting fact: the collective noun for a group of fat goth (or black metal) birds is a "grim".

They're fat ass goths who like the black sheep of metal, black metal. Trust me, all the little goths here are little lower class kids who are pent up with anger over nothing. The dress more like a Manson or a Hanson than us regular type 'bangers.

Isn't glam metal the black sheep of metal?
After all, no one who was a fan of Great White or Warrant or Ratt or... is willing to admit it.
Kind of like the people who voted for Perot in 1992.

Not in the least. All these bands do is grumble into the mic and repetitively pick over-distorted guitars. The only band with a great singer that sings low is Till form Rammstein, but part of that is due to his guttural pronunciation.
People who like good metal are hard to come by. Someone who can like Zeppelin, Sabbath, and some thrash at the same time. As a general rule, anyone who wears a Metallica shirt these days usually likes Slipknot or Korn. Blech. I'm probably the only real Metallica fan in my school. *sigh*
On a side not, punk and grunge are becoming the most commercially sucessful genres in shirt sales. I guess these "non-conformists" (sorta like those goths on South Park) aren't too happy everyone and their grandmother has a Flogging Molly shirt.
I'm going to listen to Iced Earth.

The only clubs I go to with any regularity are the goth/industrial clubs, and at least here, it's not rich kids, for the most part. Luckily, it's not kids at all, for the most part. Mainly young adults, though there are some upper-middle-aged men who go out. One of them everybody calls "Edgar Allen Poe" because of the striking resemblance. (Never mind what city I'm in.) And the only dedicated goth club here is owned by an elderly woman.
Regardless, I've seldom seen anything as, um, "creative" as the kids on that site, LOL!

Detaliz plz.
Too bad most chicks like either lame pop, alternative, or rap. None of em listen to anything good, like: AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Blind Guardian, Deep Purple, Iced Earth, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin, Megadeth, Metallica, Motörhead, Pantera, Saxon, Slayer, etc.
 sigh
You'll probably see here again.
BTW, did you like the Glorious Burden?

Oh, I intend on seeing her again, most definitely!
Music taste is an important factor in girls for me... I just can't bring myself to go out with a girl that'll listen to the radio, or that listens to poppy crap.
Glorious Burden... I was a bit dodgy about it at first (before I'd listened to it), due to the topic... but of course, I should've had faith in Iced Earth. From what I've heard of it (I don't have the entire album yet, there's really only one store in Sydney that sells it), it's no less brilliant than I'd have expected from them.
Right now, though, I'm on a real Brainstorm kick (incredible band - if you don't know them, get the album Soul Temptation for a start - immediately).
I need to catch up on the latest, though; Dungeon (Aussie power metal band) just released a new album, and I still don't have Angra's latest offering.
Thank goodness others are into this kind of stuff too

Thank god.
Ever since the labels started acting up in the 90's metal has been reduced to nostalgia and a small group of bands. There might be a handful of good bands from the 90's. Now the labels will pick up a Green Day or a Slipknot before they'd ever touch a real metal band.
Actually, despite the bitching of some, I liked GB. Their reviews basically boil down to "OMFG they did [B]Patriotic[B] lyrics! That's soo cheesy! This album sucks." It's actually refreshing to hear a band do something mildly political/war like without making a "War Pigs" or a punk-ish "Hate America" song. I just don't understand why one band with a patriotic album is so cheesy, but the rest of the genre (when politics get involved) usually go in for a subtle attack on America.
But at least metal songwriters are a little better at…uh…writing, so they lyrics aren't blunt and hamhanded, which leads to multiple interpretations of many songs. Also unlike punk where their creativity is 0.
And with all this emo, grunge and goth crap…ugh. Nobody listens to anything good. It's al U2 and Green Day. And when people like a heavier sound they listen to crappy bands like Slipknot and Korn. It also doesn't help when liking Led Zeppelin and AC/DC is the newest fad. Everyone has a Led Zep shirt, and half don't even own one of their albums. The only people who don't like Led Zep are the punks. They like Minor Threat, Anti-Flag, etc. They're really bad.
But to be honest, I really haven't been paying attention to most of the 90's metal. I usually like the older stuff and proto-metal. Of course that doesn't mean I hate every bad from the 90's. There are a couple good ones on that list. It also doesn't help when you can't afford CDs. Let's hope that contest pays off.
