If you have an issue with the Apple Store in the UK, don't bother to email them, even though they do tell you to do so in your Confirmation email.

If you do here is what you will get back :-

Dear Apple Store Customer,

Thank you for your e-mail to the Apple Store.

In order to serve our valued customers more efficiently we would like to direct you to our After Sales Support Team via Telephone on:

Freephone 0800 0391010, Monday - Friday 8 -6pm

Our Customer Care Representatives will be happy to deal with your query.

Email support is not available at this time.

Thank you for you co-operation,

Kind Regards,

The Apple Store Team

Not exactly what I would call 'valued customer' support.

The simple solution is not to buy from them.

I don;t think I will buy from them in the future.

But with the model they seem to be operating, where they ship to Apple Store buyers before they ship to resellers we could be in for longer waits.

In the UK there are very few iMacs in the stores and no iPod photos have reached the UK at all yet.

The even simpler solution is to call them.

Are we such social rejects that we're afraid to pick up a phone and talk to people?

I have called them, many times, and if you had tried that in the UK you will know why I tried email as well.

Hold tight. Stores will be opening soon!

(i.e. then we have people to shout at when things go wrong!)

Square Group in New Oxford Street, London has some iMacs plus they have a demo iPod Photo which can be seen on Stand 50 at the Mac Expo, then in-store next week - the iPod photo should be in store next week.

i know that's not much use to you in Manchester, but Apple are supplying some of the resellers decent stock levels, admittedly not all the time.
