Get paid for the hours you are working on it. I would say something like $30 - $35 pr. hour if it was me. Prehaps more, but when it's your friends company and all....

And then, just remeber to count the hours..

I ask anywhere between 300 and 500 euros. The difference depends on the size of the website. If I'd be adding calendars and photo galleries, I wouldn't go bellow 400 euros.
Once it is finished you can start charging by the hour for corrections, additions, etc.

Just my way ...

Make sure you do a contract up front. Friends' parents are a dangerous area, as sometimes either you'll be too nice or they'll expect you to be. Maybe reduce the price a little from your usual rate because you know them, but then draw up a contract and stick to it.

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.
