As I anticipate the arrival of my 2.0/DP G5 on Monday next and given that I will be making the transition from an 800Mhz G3 iBook and an original Bondi-Blue iMac with a Sonnet upgrade, like moving from a little Honda to a Ferrari, are there any precautions I should take when embracing all this horrific power for the first time?

Should I:

a) Nail everything down?

b) Wear protective clothing?

c) Move all pets out of the room?

Answers on the back of a ten dollar bill please.

Congratulations on your purchase of a Power Mac G5 2.0. Just relax and enjoy that awesome power Feathers.

We never saw that commercial in my part of the World because the supposed "Advertising Standards Authority" upheld a complaint (I wonder who) that it was "false, inaccurate and misleading". I Sh*t you not. Welcome to the "Nanny State"!

Is that true? Can you tell us more about this? Is this normal in your country? I'm rather surprised.

The objection was to the claim made in the commercial that the new G5 was the 'World's fastest desktop computer'. They had no qualms about its ability to blast users through walls. Go figure.

Cheers!

I wish I had the $$$ to get a G5. This iMac isn't keeping up with my torture. I wish I could get a tax cut.
