The comment, not the fact that they are just mentioning it.

Now let the shoppers decide which one they want.

How about a Windows ad on a Mac site?

I tried the Bose speakers in the store a few weeks ago and man did they sound great - great full bass even at moderate volume especially. At least in the store, the JBL speakers sounded hollow and tinny in comparison.

They aren't getting that great reviews though.

Obviously not an official closed test on my part, but the Bose sounded relatively much better than any of the other iPod speaker systems sitting on the table!

Aside from bose there is pretty much no other speakers out of that quality. I *think* I saw one other.

They say for the money they only sound good when standing infront of them and they missed out because the base does not act as a charging station or dock.

It is better idea just to hook it up to any boom box by whatever means.

Why would you bother? Get a nice pair of Boston 2.1's and lug them around. So worth it.

+ plus really good marketing. They spend more on advertising then product development.

I tried them at a store today. First they are $300 US.
The build is VERY cheap feeling and looking. The volume keys are these silly round buttons one on each side of the iPod, they also feel cheap.

As for sound, they sounded very good, with your head within 2 feet of the speakers. 5 feet away they sounded awful. Honestly, the low end Boom Boxes for $100 sounded MUCH better with more base.

You would be much smarter to get an iPod and iTrip and cheap boom box. Save $150 and have it sound better.

My stepdad is a journalist (he writes about insurance). He once wrote a scathing article about one company in the Swiss equivalent of Forbes -- and it got printed on the same spread as that same company's full-page ad! The company wasn't too pleased, of course, but that is what happens when a publication follows journalistic integrity and keeps the advertising and editorial departments 100% separate.
