So a buddy of mine has had a bit of a run-in with his eBay-purchased Dell laptop.

As we're pretty good friends, and he's in somewhat of a predicament, I'm trying to help him out, with some positive direction in respect to his next laptop purchase.

A couple others in our group have also contributed, but I was thinking maybe some of the fine folks here on macnn may be able to help steer our poor fellow in the right direction.

This intended to be kind, and in good-humor, of course.

That, and it's in his LiveJournal... so a HUGE thread from everyone here would be both awesome, and HILARIOUS.

So, have at it then! Pleeeease??

He doesn't seem to be the kind who can be swayed. Besides, I'm not the kind of person who tells somebody to not buy a Windows machine.

I read the thread... very cool. But I too have stopped trying to convert people... let them find the answer their way, they will see the right one when they're ready.

LOL, that's just hilarious

He should take a look at an iBook if money is an issue.
