i think u2 have left out some songs from the soundtrack "million dollar hotel" and some covered songs like "unchained melody" and "everlasting love" which were the bsides on the joshua tree's singles. I'm sure there could be more.

Well, i wish i could buy some rare and unreleased tracks only because i owned all u2 albums, but they are smart and they figure it.

The studio version of "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" from the Batman Forever soundtrack appears to be absent as well; though a live version of the song is included. I was very impressed to see that the Passengers soundtrack was included. Nice!

Edit: Nevermind; they do include "Hold Me". It's one of the tracks on "The Best of 1990-2000". Perfect. While not meticulously complete, this collection is still far more complete than I expected it to be. Very nice!

I wonder if it's because the rights to those songs were owned by people who wanted too high a commission for them to be redistributed again...

Probably not the case of Million Dollar Hotel's worst tracks, but most of the songs we're talking about here are covers.
When you were young and your heart was an open book, you used to say "live and let live."
But if this ever changing world, in which we live in, makes you give in and cry, say "live and let die."

I'm glad this thread is here. Here are my 2 cents (or 2 missing songs):

"night and day" original version from the Red Hot + Blue album. They have 2 mixes of it, but not the original.

"theme from mission impossible" from the Tom Cruise movie, obviously. (this may not be an official U2 song, but still...)

I'm sure there are several more missing songs. Rather unfortunate. But there are lots of cool live concerts that I don't think are officially available otherwise.

the fact that all the live tunes and 'rare and unreleased' tracks are listed as 'album only' is what's bugging me. grrrr.

aye. 'mission impossible' was credited to larry mullen and adam clayton rather than U2.

The mexico tracks appear to be from the excellent popmart video release from a few years ago (minus some tracks). I already transferred this to minidisc from my video, so now i'm going to convert it to AAC, just to annoy them.

I wish there was an option just to buy the unrelased and live tracks. That would make a nice double album since I have most of the band's other albums already.

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.

When i said "they figure it", i mean they probably believe most people have owned most u2 albums, and that is why they will never release the unrelease tracks alone.

But it is a little bit disappointed that the complete u2 doesn't contain all the tracks, included some new b sides like "neon lights" and "fast cars" for the single vertigo.
