What are your plans for Thanksgiving? I'm having a few friends over for a nice buffet Thanksgiving dinner: Turkey, dressing, candied yams, (real) mashed potatoes (with lots of butter in them), my famous cream of broccoli soup, fresh steamed asparagus, corn-on-the-cob, salad, and a myriad of desserts including my pumpkin cake (made with cream cheese), pumpkin pie, and fresh homemade apple pie. I'm cooking today and going to get everything ready today. Tomorrow will be low-key and relaxed.

I'm going windsurfing HERE (look for me here on the cam) tomorrow, then coming home to greet people and have dinner.

We'll probably try to see a movie tomorrow night, also.

What are all of your plans?

Have a good one!

My Wed-Friday schedule…hopefully. I gotta do a CD cover, so that might cut back on the little time alloted to MP.

I got three 6 packs all ready for the 6 day weekend.

I plan to invite some Americans over here for some excuse or other, then kidnap them and steal their identities so I can go live in their country.

You must be pretty desperate. …
If you ever need a hiding spot, I got a place a on Circus Street that's sealed down. It's where my VRWC members chill when we are done abusing minorities.

If I ever skip across the pond, be sure to paint a big ol rebel flag on your SUV.

Speaking of England, check your PMs.

[BTW, a Jolt and a Bud might give you that hammered feeling with enough caffeine to keep you up avoiding commies longer.]

No special plans. Just going to give thanks for all the blessings that I have. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Supposedly it's about the Plymouth landing and the subsequent winter, which lead to a feast between the Wampanoag and Pilgrims. In reality, from the Continental Congress days onward, the founding presidents set days aside for giving thanks, like for great accomplishments, etc. Roosevelt set aside the third Thursday in Thanksgiving for the official holiday. Gave more time to advertise for Christmas, which helped during the Depression (a situation he made worse with the New Deal, BTW). Lincoln celebrated a final thursday in the Civil War days, originally.

I get to eat turkey at noon tomorrow, because like a jackass, I volunteered to work so someone else could have the holiday off. But, it's double time, so what ever.

Have a happy Thanksgiving, you whacky bunch of crazy kids!

And for those of you not in the US, have a great Thursday!

It is 5 o'clock AM and I am up making pumpkin cake and then putting the turkey in the oven. Ah, the joys of being the cook on Thanksgiving! We have a 27 pound bird. I woke up with a raging headache -- thank goodness for Tylenol.

Anyone else cooking?

Millenium, you're a good guy to work on Thanksgiving!

Ah, today's one of the drawbacks on being abroad. Thursday here and at work. Not even a turkey dinner this year as I'm stuck in the office and my g/f is also working late on a project at her company.

No football on tv, but I'll listen to the games via Internet radio and call the folks.
Tomorrow, I'm off so going to the tech show and check out the stuff (and maybe but an iPod Photo).
But next week, I'll be on holiday. Hopefully sunning and getting drunk on some Aussie beach. Or, being chilled and getting drunk in Tokyo, Seoul or Beijing.

Anyways, happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating - and for all of those who aren't as well.

Randman, sounds like you've got a good gig going on there! Vacationing all over the world? Geez, that sounds terrible!

Well, happy Thanksgiving to you anyway, guy.

I've got two pumpkin cakes in the oven and am working on the apple pie. Just finished the crust. The pumpkin cake is the biggest hit every year because it's really rich: Made with cream cheese, butter, and eggs.

Trying to get down to Miami this morning for the Christmas parade for the wee ones, but don't know...the cooking is sure slow!

It has benefits of being abroad, but I'd stil rather be home for the day, tucking into a turkey and watching the nfl games.

BTW, did you find the dog?

I plan on a BBQ while telling my family I can't come over because "I have to work." I will drink beer all day and make Christmas gifts for my family by combining crap I don't need anymore with a hot glue gun. WalMart and Toys-R-Us, Sears, and Target get nothing from me this year.

Sounds very interesting, chalk_outline.

Good luck!

Yes, we did find the dog. But, it has a twist to the story. A lady found the dog in her back yard going through the garbage with some kind of weird blue nylon collar. We didn't have a blue nylon collar on him. She didn't put the collar on him. Anyway, she "adopted" him. Apparently she is an engineer that moved here from Alaska and she is all alone. She brought the dog over to the house when she saw the sign we'd put up and when she was here she started crying because she is recently divorced and apparently the dog filled a void in her life. She's very nice and the dog really likes her.

Anyway, now I'm thinking of giving her the dog.

He is at her house for the day because she is all alone on Thanksgiving. We invited her over, but she said she is just going to stay home and get some work done. Apparently her husband left her and moved in with another woman or something weird like that. She was very honest and very nice. Anyway, on the spur of the moment I said, "We're going to be very busy on Thanksgiving so maybe you'd like to keep him for another day or two?" She was thrilled. We've been talking about letting her keep the dog amongst ourselves. She is coming by tomorrow to drop him back off.

We adopted him from a rescue situation with the idea that we'd find him a home. Maybe this is the way he found his home? I'm mulling it over.

On the other hand, I would miss him terribly. But, he's only two blocks away. I guess we could get another dog eventually.

I don't really need luck. All of the elements are already in place. I have chicken, lighter fluid, and a ton of hot glue sticks. Plus tons of crap that in 24 hours should resemble a family statue of my sister and her husband and three kids made out of CD's, old books, beer cans, legos, ethernet cable, and two PowerMac 7200s. It is all planned out.

My sisters family is my only family. So only one gift is needed. The rest are dead. Happy Turkey Day.. Gobble, Gobble..

Hey, will you post a picture here when you get done with it?

I'm sure that all of us are very intrigued and would like to see it!

Turkey is in the oven, stuffed, the candied yams are all ready to put into the oven later today, the potatoes are all cut up and ready to boil to make mashed potatoes, I have two cakes, one apple pie, and I took chocolate chip "Reese's" peanut butter cookies out of the oven just before the turkey went in. (They're regular Tollhouse cookies but they have little pieces of Reese's peanut butter cup chocolate bars in them.) Right now the broccoli soup is simmering on the stove top and soon that will be finished also. I want to have everything done by noon.

I just want to RELAX.
