I feel Apple missed a great opportunity the other day. On “Oprah's Favorite Things 2004” they gave away the DJ (from Dell?) MP3 player. My thought that this audience was the perfect “consumer group” for the iPod.

By the way, I don’t watch Oprah my girlfriend does. Its times like that I wish I had a second TV

Dell probably provides equipment for the show or something, so they would have been a bit stupid to ask apple for ipods.

Yes last year she gave away 15GB iPods to everyone in her audience, just one of many items in a grab bag. Why Dell this year, who knows.

Correct, she has given away iPods before. This year she also gave away a 30"+ LCD TV...what brand? Dell. They obviously worked out a deal.

Anyone see that Daily Show interview with one of the guys that won a new car on Oprah?

They made Oprah look like this evil monster, forcing unsuspecting audience members to pay hundreds of dollars in taxes.

Ever watch the Daily Show. It's satire - they play it up that way on purpose, and it's hilarious.

Yo bet ya. My secretary purchased 2 iPod mini for her daughters because she thought they’re cool. FYI, the group on the show was teachers.
