That's it. I am going with this, not going to wait for the much rumored flash-ipod. Will throw in a 512 mb SD card into it and i will be set. Apple can't beat this price anyway!

My bet, iPod tiny comes with at least 512 more likely 1gig of Flash memory, and looks better than that.

Is there an interface on that cheap plastic...thing?

(If I had a dollar for every "IPOD XXXXXX KILLAH!" that's hit the market and got its own thread, I could probably afford the 60 GB iPod photo by now.)

I'm pretty sure Steve Jobs can look at that thing and still sleep easy at night.

Ooooohh. It has a USB 1.1 port. And it ONLY plays MP3, not AAC nor WMA.

I don't care for the interface as long as I can just play a list of songs! yes it is cheap but I am hoping it is reliably functional and will allow me to jog with it every morning.

Well, this is worth a second look as well. SD card slot on top of 256 built in memory + tuner is very competitive for the price!! BTW, anyone else spotted any flash based players around hundred bucks (CDN) with similar functions, recently?

cheers!

CALLING ALL NOOBS:
Listen up, and listen good;
Posting new threads with the contents;
"IPOD KILLARRRRRR! IS THIS THE END OF IPOD, DOOD? IS HE DEAD 4 DA GOOD?"
Is plain stupid. The iPod, which is not a living being, cannot be killed. It can not be slayed, knocked off or put to sleep. So there is no such thing as an "IPOD KILLARRRRR!" because iPod is correctly written "iPod" and the correct spelling for "KILLARRRRRR" is not "KILLLARRRR" but "killer."
Noob, iPod's reign is not going to finish soon. So stop wasting your and other's time posting "IPOD KILLLARRRR!!! IS THIS THE END OF IPOD? IS HE DEAD 4 GOOD?" threads.

lots of ipod killers here. And, I will contribute to killing it until they make something that I think is reasonable in price.

If he would have said that it didn't have audio in then I would have thought him CharleS

Anyway, uhh yah, flash based MP3 players have been available for a long time... most people don't like theirs because well they tend to suck.

I'm sick of all these self proclaimed "iPod Killers" I wish the people touting all these devices (none of which have come close to even scratching the iPod's marketshare) would STFU and let the sales figures do the talking.

I'm with the 'Turd on this one.

This thing is only an iPod KILLAR if the iPod is of no interest to you anyway. If you don't care about interface, design, or excellence in doing what it's supposed to do, then wtf does this thread have to do with the iPod at all?

Nothing.

Now buy your flash thingy and shut up already.

Sorry, but: really.

Shouldn't a product come out after an iPod to be considered a true iPod killer?

Of course not. It should never come out, that way it can never be proven that it isn't an iPod killer.

Apple always likes to shock...I say they keep the flash based iPod in the mini and you will choose between flash and HD based or an iPod micro at 4GB flash and increase the mini HD size

This is my new mp3 player.

I have an ipod, but I got tired of carrying so manny little things around so when I remembered that my new Nokia 6230 can also act as an mp3 player, I bought a 1 gb mmc card and I am able to store over 10 hours of my favorite music on it.

The Nokia 6230 also has many other great features.

n00b. I have yet to see a so-called "iPod Killer" that I would be willing to let my cat use as a chew-toy, much less use myself.

And yes, I have an iPod. 10GB/3G.

Don't try to outweird me, I get stranger things than you free with my breakfast cereal.
