Anyone from Perth on?
Heading to WA for a few days come the weekend and looking for some suggestions on what to do/see/avoid. Have a mate who's from there but he's in HK now and doesn't get over much.
I know Sydney quite well and can find my way around Melbourne but it's my first trip to WA.
Cheers.

I went once as a young child and my family was completely snowed in.
Scotland is gorgeous this time of year.

Hmm, I didn't realise crack was so easily available in Shanghai.
Just put down the pipe or the mouse dude. Both are a lethal combo.

Now, any comments from anyone who actually knows where Perth is?

The original Perth is in Scotland, and that's what moonmonkey is going on about.
Just who are Britain? What do they? Who is them? And why?

Duh! But when I talk about WA and Sydney and Melbourne, one doesn't usually associate that with the Highlands.

What are you talking about?

If you are looking for information on Perth Australia or Perth Scotland there is plenty of information on the internet. Its probably not worth your while waiting for a resident to show up as they are both pretty small cities.

You are obviously very exited about your trip, I hope you have fun.

I have looked. But I've seen posts from people here on the forum from Perth, Australia. And it doesn't hurt to ask a local, or someone living there. Especially as I'd like to see more than the usual tourist traps. For example, if I were heading to Shanghai for the first time, I might ask you for a recommendation or two.

Enjoy your trip to Perth, randman. Make sure you visit Doune Castle, famous for... not much really, except it was used in Monty Python's The Holy Grail.

Ah, you meant Perth 'Stralya.

Well, despite all of the very non-helpful comments here, still had a blast though didn't do very well at the blackjack table. Weather was great, nice and warm/cool as Perth was having a cold front for the weekend.
Highlight of the trip was a dive with wild dolphins. I've swum in an aquarium-type setup with pink-nose dolphins before but this was pretty cool. No real interaction with them other than seeing them swimming around, but it was still cool as hell to see bunches of them swimming around you. A sea lion even came over to the group and swam around to see what was going on.
All in all, I'd have to give WA a big

Yeah, loved the cooler temperatures over the weekend. Hada good time. Did about it all. From the market in Freo to the dolphins in Rockingham, checked out some critters at the zoos, the greyhound tracks, Cottlesoe and Subiaco and Burswood, followed by a trip-ending visit to the mall. Good stuff.

And for the avoidance of doubt, the picture of the falling-down tenements was not taken in Perth, Scotland. Perth is in fact a very beautiful wee city
