I am readying my application for University... the courses which discuss a 260 UCAS point requirement, is 260 the minimum or prefered or required?
Does that amount lower after the interview, or are the requirements always the same?

That is the minimum to get in. Some universities will make you an offer much lower than that after interview, but only if they really like you. If the course is popular and places are well sought after it won't make much sense on their part to make you a lower offer.

260 points? The points system has changed a lot since they introduced AS stuff...
Anyway - interviews can mean a lot. I was rather lucky in getting into my first choice since I didn't get what I needed.
You'd be better off asking one of your teachers about this sort of thing though

Their entry requirements usually stay the same unless they give you an unconditional offer after interview. On results day the universities are obliged to give all their first places to those that either exceed or meet the entry requirements.
It varies greatly though. The 'top' unis will be strict about you meeting their requirements. Other's will be more liberal.
Mind tellin' us what you're planning on studying and where? Might help us answer your questions.

260 is BCC if you do 3 A levels. It's the bare minimum to get in - but if they make you an offer for it, they can't then refuse you later.
(Points: A at A-level is 120, B is 100, C is 80 etc. An AS level is half that, so A is 60, B is 50, etc.)

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.

Comp Sci and Journalism would make a groovy/odd combo- but would add variety to your studies. DMP and Journalism would go together nicely. Entry requirements for CS are usually high and require a minimum of a grade C (sometimes a B) in Maths A level. If you hate Maths you'd probably find CS quite difficult.
Interesting choices though, I'd envy you if you took Journalism . I'm hoping to pursue a career there but I'm studying something completely different...
Took me a long time to make a decision so don't worry about being undecided at this stage. You still have time.
