We'd gladly welcome the hawks here in Georgia and NY can have their warf rat infestation worsen.

Grrrrrrrrr, this just burns me up.

you be wrizzong

the hawk is cool but it brings about some problems. they felt it was necessary to remove it off private property. which is their country given right.

i would prefer they leave the hawk alone but don't disparage NY for this.

Yeah, I heard about the hawk nest being torn down. NYC landlords are JERKS and deserve to be eaten rats. They are not human beings so they don't count as NY'rs. They never live here anyway. They just buy buildings and live out of the city.
Me, I live in NYC and I LOVE nature and that's where all my charity donations go to. There are too many humans anyway.
One day I WILL have a house in the mountains (once they figure out how to get broadband up there).

Yeah, no need to make this a red v. blue thing.

As the article notes, every weekend you could see literally dozens of people in the park with cameras, binoculars, and telescopes, watching those guys. Hardly nature-haters.

As for the board of the building, they definitely are jerks, as today's NYTimes Editorial asserts.

The hawks have gone out of their way to learn to live with us. The least the wealthy residents of 927 Fifth Avenue could have done was learn to live with the hawks.

Pale Male's unusual decision to take up residence in Manhattan and raise his young 12 stories above the park captivated bird watchers and inspired a book and a documentary film.

I saw the documentary a month ago on PBS or some other channel. It was really cool how New Yorkers would go out when the sun would come up at watch the nest until the sun went down. The coolest part was when the female had babies and then the babies learned how to fly. I recommend checking out the documentary if you can.

What's up with where Boomstick lives and their hatred of intelligence, not to mention their generalising and their inbreeding, which produces fine examples such as Boomstick is representative of.

I'm the one who rescued the injured hawk and countless other wildbirds, Pac Man.

At least I can't hate you.

Oh yeah, I remember that thread, I forgot it was you.

But what's up with the generalising ? I'm sure there's nature haters in NYC, just like I'm sure there's nature haters down where you live. The hawk you rescued did get shot by somebody who lives near by you I would assume, and not somebody from NYC.

I'm going to puke all over the shoes of the next person who says red state/blue state.

Bummer about the birds, though. They're just trying to get by, like everything else alive on the planet.

We have Peregrine Falcons here in Boston. They are a source of pride.

This frustrates me so bad because the one I tried so hard to save died.

The lowlife that shot him would rather spend his food money on malt liquor and pot so he was shooting the squirrels for extra food. He eliminated his competition.

He wasn't so ganksta when the DNR arrested him, though.

Did y'all see my movie of the Ospreys I posted?
I flew over to Eufala, AL to video them at the airport.

Shooting more squirrels when a certain Mr. BoomStick called the cops.

At the very least he's charged with posession of a firearm by a felon and discharging a firearm within the city limits.
